Ok, so according to Drew, I am over thinking this, so which part is correct? I think the Fibonacci series is correct.

I think we have to work out how to apply in some way the SUM(10,7,5,3) to the following Fibonacci series:

654,665,1319,1984,3303
.
Maybe its that part I have not worked out correctly. Or, maybe we have to extend the Fibonacci series further. I will continue working on this. :rolleyes:

More power to you. I'm close to spent for the day.

One last thing. A miser is someone who does not spend money, or does so reluctantly. A "poor miser's sum" could, in fact, be a fortune. I'm not certain if this is Mr. Wagar being humble or otherwise self effacing, or something else (a dead miser can't take it with him to the grave, for instance, which brings us back to the River Styx).

If we extend the following Fiboacci series:

And extend these to get ten in number:

.
If we then apply the SUM(10,7,5,3), we get the following:

For 10 we obtain 22467
For 7 we obtain 5287
For 5 we obtain 1984
For 3 we obtain 665

What if SUM(10,7,5,3) is a reference to planets? The 10th, 7th, 5th, 3rd Planets at Phaeton's Reach which is where David Braben and Ian Bell, in 1984, released a certain program that used a Fibonacci sequence to generate it's universe?

EDIT: I'm just wondering if the "overthinking it" that Drew referred to has something to do with trying to stretch a Fibonacci sequence out of this particular riddle. I'm thinking that the "Fi(0)" us just another reference to Fibonacci's Zephyrum

It is Rhea... Because its the daughter of gaia and the titan/god/whatever which is for dunno the word (if a woman often gets pregnant she is ***********, or a soil where grow a lot of plants also is ***********)

Update: it is fertility... (German poem says: "Gaias Tochter die Fruchtbarkeit verspricht" (Gaias Daughter who promise fertility)

Here's a thought. Ok, so Tony H's solution was overthought & we need to simplify.
How about the first three terms indicate that trailer riddle is based on the fibonacci series used by David Braben & Ian Bell in the 1984 version of Elite. We need to get that, and sum the third, fifth, seventh & tenth terms to produce a number. That number will indicate (somehow) the solution, possibly some planetary/system coordinates in the original game? I don't know anything about that original fibonacci sequence, so anyone ...

Yes, alright. Responded to the "malicious" part of the French. May not be interpreting that right, either. Gah. Too tired. Going to walk away from the computer now.

The Fibonacci spiral. Perhaps? "Poor miser's sum", since the Fibonacci spiral is also related to the golden mean.
