Can't Plot Route At All

Yes, you need to run in 1920x1080 resolution with super-sampling set to 1, if you want the map popups appear in the right place. Depending on your resolution, the popup will appear in the wrong place, or entirely off-screen.

Unfortunately, turning SS to 1.0 makes me think I'm back playing on the Xbox... it looks fairly rubbish...

Honestly, this is awful. I am fast losing patience with FD.

Go into graphics settings and change this.. set this option to that... all discovered by the users after this mess has been released live.

Where is FD on this?

I truly hate these stupid introduced bugs and their hokey sticking plaster fixes, this isn't a game it's a tech support job.

That may NOT be enough. It didn't fix it for me, since I run at 4K; you must also adjust the resolution.

Good point. depending on what Res people are playing on, it could be a varying degree of "fix," and graphics levels. Since I don't play in 4k on the PC, dropping to Ss 1.0 worked for me. I can see how it might not for others.

They are on Easter Holiday.

My Super Sampling is already set to x1.0.

And that's my allotted couple of hours of game time over, ZERO MINUTES spent playing the game, all the time spent tech-supporting a 3 year old game that I used to play regularly.

Real bad FD, real bad.

Tell me, what's my motivation to dip in and out of the game from now on?

What's my motivation to purchase any ingame content if I can't play the game?

I'll come back and play when this is fixed, and that's not me being moody, that's me not able to play the game at all due to this new bug.

They are on Easter Holiday.

For 2 months?

According to earlier posts this has been on their books for 2 months. A fundamental game element. It's well beyond not good enough at this point. So much for me dipping in to play for a couple of hours occasionally, if every iteration is going to break fundamental parts of the game. And you can fan boy me all you want, the reality is FD have proved time and time again that they are able to break the game and not put it back for a considerable length of time. It's not like I'm just kicking off here, 2 years this has been a 'feature' of dealing with FD. It would be nice to drop in and be able to play, to find out that some of the new DLC content is bugged. But no, the DLC all works fine, just the basics of the game are knackered.

Tsk tsk... a lttle patience might be in order here. I had the 2.2 AMD bug and couldnt play for around a week till it was fixed. Didn't throw a tantrum, just got on with other things in life...

Thank you for the reply.
I am running at Super Sampling 2.0.
My resolution is 1920x1080.

My PC Specs, for what it's worth, are:
Pc Specs:
-OS - Win7 x64 /dual boot/ Kali Linux
-Motherboard = ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME
-CPU = Intel Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz (OC'd @ 4.6Ghz)
-Liquid CPU Cooler = Corsair Hydro Series
-RAM = G.SKILL 32GB (2 x 16GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-24000 @ 3000+ MHZ
(RAM CAS Timings 14, 14, 14, 34)
-Video Card = EVGA GTX 980ti 6 Gig (No OC)
-Main Drive = Samsung 850 Pro 1 Tb SSD
PSU - EVGA Gold 1300w

I just started researching this issue, so I may have missed it, but do you have reason to believe Super Sampling is now causing issues with Galaxy Map Interactions? As I said, these settings have not been changed since the last-known "good" and properly functioning game-play session. As such, and since you inquired about it specifically, I figure maybe you have experienced, or read something about it being an issue?
Thanks again...

For you it's not the resolution issue, I need to change from 4K to 1080 to plot a route, I'm taking a break from the game too convoluted.

I'm playing at 1920x1080p on a straight HD 27" iiyama monitor and still get the map issue. It first appeared in beta 5 for me and carried over to the live version... changing the SS settings did nowt at all apart from briefly. It corrected itself and then reoccurred. I shouldn't be having to faff around with graphics settings that have worked since the last patch. What's next, turn everything to 800x600 just so ED will work?

I've given up playing since the live release as it's way too annoying to continue... I'd be quicker getting my sextant out of the cupboard and consulting a Sailor's almanac than trying to plot a route on the galmap...

Same problem here I thought I was going mad not being able to plot a route. So now I have to drop back to 1080p minecraft graphics add my destimation(s) as bookmarks and return to 4K where I can plot from a bookmark. Oh my what a pain I'll give it a go but that could be a game breaking bug if travelling regularly.

I am still trying to learn the game and couldn't figure out why I couldn't plot anything anymore.

These sort of bugs are potentially game breaking, considering it requires you to find this specific thread from google.

Sigh, guess I won't be playing this for a little bit

Have had the same problem. But after reading this thread I adjusted the screen resolution back from 4k to 1920 X 1080 and the problem disappeared. So, it would seem to be related to screen resolution. 4k not fully supported.

The problem exists only above 1920x1080 at the game-engine level.

If you do any of the following, it will break:

  • Increase resolution higher than 1920x1080
  • Use Nvidia DSR or AMD VSR at values above 1920x1080
  • Use supersampling factor in the game settings that multiply your effective resolution above 1920x1080
  • Use independent supersampling in your Oculus/Vive settings

Being fixed in the PC patch that's dropping right this very minute.

Yep! :) I read that fix is indeed in the currently-applying patch. Quite happy to read that. Thank you, FDev...now...about that Engineers-Materials Storage? ;)
Seriously though...very glad this is being addressed.
Can't wait to get patched-up, and back into the grind to complete my Conda.

Edited to add: UNLESS UPS gets here before i'm patched, with my new ASUS ROG STRIX OC 1080 ti vid card which is out for delivery as I type this, according to UPS...then, i'm afraid this game will be waiting until I pull out the 980ti, and put in the new gaming-goodness vid power.
Thank you...that is all...

First, I am going preface my issue by stating the following:
1. If this is a "wrong" place to post this, please let me know and move.
2. I am not new to this game, and nothing has changed from my end that should account for this issue i'm experiencing. By that, I mean...I have changed nothing, and this was working fine for me the last time I played this on the PC, but i've been playing this on the XBOne for a while, and just recently decided to play it more on the pc, and noticed my issue last night during a multi-crew session with a friend.

Issue: I CANNOT plot ANY ROUTE on the Galaxy map. This is regardless of distance, or jump range. For instance, my current ship, Asp Explorer, with a jump range of approximately 32-34, cannot plot a route, to even a jump point directly beside me, in the Caph system.
I have tested this in multiple ships, with large enough (confirmed) jump ranges, and to points directly beside, and up to 200 ly away.
My fuel is good. My FSD Range is good.
This was not like this before, and I do not have this issue on the XBOne, only on the PC version, and this apparently only recently started.
I don't get any kind of normal interaction for a system, such as the ability to click on the option to go into system map, or to buy data about a system, nothing that I remember normally should be present. If I click on the system, no interaction is possible, though I can get an Orange Indicator over that system, but again, no route plotted.
The twist is, if I click on a system/base I had previously "bookmarked," it will plot a route, but only if I go into "Bookmarks" and choose a previously marked location prior to the time since I noticed the issue with my inability to plot routes.
Another example: I have a Passenger Mission, I go into it, and click on the option for it to open the galaxy map and show me the location. Regardless of the distance, 10, 20, 50, 100...etc., it WILL open the galaxy map, but again...I can't click and plot a route, I can't enter the system map from the selected system (no interactions available as it was before).
This is an issue regardless of whether I enter Galaxy Map via the Mission in "Transactions" menu, Or directly through the Galaxy Map interaction option on the ship HUD.

As such, I can't do missions of any kind.

I have messed with galaxy map settings, and have done everything I can to fix this, and all to no avail. I simply cannot plot routes anymore in the PC version.
Any thoughts, hints, fixes, anyone may know?
I'm seriously at a loss to explain this.

Thanks...

Edited: Mis-typings, missed punctuation, and etc., annoyed me when I re-read this later. Had to at least fix a few. Hate typing. Ty.

sounds like the offset bug. Its been reported and a fix should be on the way Soontm. I saw somewhere that setting supersampling to 1 can help. My version of this bug isn't too bad. The info thing is on the screen and I can click on everything.

still a bug

Ok, Frontier has gotta solve this soon or it will loose players.

This is the case:
- I just bought an ASP Explorer and left my old ship in storage.
- So I swap ships and when I'm inside the ASP I can NOT see ANY system in my navigation window.
- Hence I can not plot a course and had to let a passenger down, leaving her at the station. Decrease of rep etcetera etcetera THAT .
- So I set a filter in my navigation window to see ONLY systems. None there.
- Next step: I swap back to my Viper and check the navigation window... there ya go I see systems and I can plot voyages.
- I swap back to my ASP and I check my navigation window.... NO SYSTEMS.

So devs, this is actually a MAJOR bug and I'm going to ask for a refund very soon unless you fix this.

I have never seen this before, you need to file a ticket with suitable system specs and steps to reproduce.

It sounds as if you are missing a module of some form, but as I've not seen it before I can't guess what that would be.

I'm dealing with the same thing, you can search for systems by name and select them with a mouse. But yeah, it is definitely frustrating
