So QoS gets sacrificed. . . for what?

Says you :)

I'm not going to enter a year-long forum tennis game with you, to fulfill your egotistical internet argument quota, over a subject that literally had a game designer (on several occasions) state "this is how it is, that's not changing, if you don't like the reasoning that's your problem".

You don't have to like the reasoning at all. But I do. And it isn't changing. But I love it when forumites think their opinion overrides FD's time, work and consideration.

And if there really is no skill to it, I guess you wouldn't mind doing it so much :)

But in case none of this got through I'll reiterate:

IT'S NOT HAPPENING AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN IN THE FIFTY THREADS THAT PRECEDED THIS, ALL WITH THE SAME LACK OF PROGRESSIVE DISCUSSION IN FAVOUR OF ENTITLED WHINING AND "FD'S DECISIONS SUXX"

Thankyou for your time <3

Do you think anyone saying "it's not gonna change" is going to make me happy about it? Nope. Not how the world works.

Matter #2 - just because something isn't challenging doesn't mean I don't mind doing it - that's just so stupid I don't even know where to begin explaining. Best start plotting routes by "Efficient" rather than "Fastest" - because there's no skill difference means you don't mind wasting hours of your time.

Nice reiteration, although the size could've been bigger, and I'm not sure if you called my post enough derogatory terms to constitute a "progressive discussion". Perhaps if you weren't here doing what you're doing, the rest of us could have a discussion about the matter, rather than if it's happening or not.

To be fair if we had storage I can guarantee there wouldn't be a diamond left in the galaxy. :D

As for QoS QoL I really would benefit from a sat nav. Navigation has been explained to me but I still can't do it easily and find it very frustrating.

Aren't markets instanced so you can do it for your "galaxy" only?

but..... its not my Game.. its FDs game, and regardless of whether extra fire buttons is a good idea or not, they have come forth and stated it is how it is because they want it that way. As users this is all we can ask for. Some one made a suggestion, FD responded and gave reasons why it is as it is.
Their game, we're playing it. They're not making this game for themselves. If there's enough people that want a feature that's not really changing a lot in the game - just convenience, they should at least consider it. And it keeps coming up, which means it's something more people would like to have. If there's a good reason rather than "We would have to code that in" or "There's skill to toggling fire groups", fine.

I choose to like it - or at the very least, work with it :)

That's not a choice. Everyone has to work with it because there's no other option.

There is only one shared galaxy between all game modes and platforms.

Oh! Interesting. I was under the impression that Xbox users were in a completely separate instance from PC/Mac users and Ne'er The Twain Shall Meet, but it's more like they're in a really big private group.

While there is no crossplay between PC/Mac and XB1 players we all affect and experience the same shared galaxy state - as PS4 players will when it is launched on that platform.

The lack of autopilot makes this game remind me of "Lost". More specifically, reminds me of that guy who had to get up to push a button every hour.

That is how traveling feels in Elite.

To keep the playing field as level as possible. Every controller out there can do two fire buttons, not every controller could do three, four or more.

Will PS4 users occupy the same arena as Xbox users? Seems logical that they would.

+1 for hyper jump autopilot, I have no idea how someone could see this "press j to enter loading screen" as any type of "flying your spaceship" or a gameplay. Storage would be nice to have too.

Sure, I think what people are trying to tell you is that it has been considered many times and you have the dev's response right there with their justification.

If you don't like the justification, well that's a shame, nevermind.

Most jump points (after the first) are behind stars. So it'd have to autopilot around the star (taking into account stellar horizons, fuel scooping, heat etc) before it could jump. And, bluntly, that's your job.

But why should I have to play the game? Can't it just be made to play itself while I browse F(Sp)acebook? It's supposed to be 3300 isn't it?

+ better useful Fighter Orders I posted about - especially "SCAN TARGETS" (they do have a Basic Scanner as is standard)
+ PLAYER TRANSACTIONS to allow our own deals
+ CQC STATIONS IN Hi/HazRES (others less populated would not afford one)

Exactly. There isn't a single part of the game that couldn't be automated (although as Buck Rogers pointed out, having combat automated is a bad idea) but the game then becomes little more than an elaborate screensaver.

Nice hyperbole (I think its the term), hyper jump autopilot would not trade for you, would not dogfight for you and would not play the game for you. I`m sure it could be done in a not abusable way.

Circling around star and pressing J 10+ times row is not a very good job to have, amrite?
(especially with a new featured in 2.3 star loading procedures)
