THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I'm normally quite cynical, but I do think the lights are on for a reason, if the generation ship was lit also - I'd say slapdash programming.
Also paid for voice acting on the logs, no this all looks deliberate to me.
Lots of poweful folk want these folk dead for the information they hold- that's valuable - more valuable than some piddling bounty.

Too true, Sap Core put out a bounty for Salome prior to events, We are now proud to help Yuri make it safe and sound.

We want the information we don't want it buried and we want to share that information this is how Alliance works and all the other Indie factions out there.

I just want the rescue to work well overall, I would hate it to be a disaster as many of us have put time and effort into this.

I don't see anyone else offering justice for the Zurara.

This seems like it's going to end up like a Fury Road in space. I hope you all record some awesome videos on the 29th.

Believe me I've always believed this is a human conspiracy, I know who is involved in this sordid mess.

Once we find the truth all hell will break loose

That lot were around this morning too. At least they were goading commanders in SC so those who wanted to survive could change game mode.

Solo will be the death of us all. Some Solo pilot will get diseased and bring it back to the bubble.

The sooner its nuked the better

There is no arrest here. The only two options given are they die for good or they make it to where they're going. Let's be honest, in this dystopian future there would be no fair trail anyways. If there is some great coverup than why not let them get to where they're going, see what happens and then decide if they should live or die?

Dystopian ??

The only Dystopia is in Imp space, In Aliiance space we are all free. In Fed space you all think your free.....

All answers based on story and lore (as far as I know it):

She always promised to reveal some secrets but never revealed anything. How often are you willing to listen to promises until you simply don't trust somebody?
Does she really know something? There is not even a slight indication that she might know something.

In the Prism incident she showed that she absolutely can't be trusted to make decisions that might affect thousands, if not millions or billions of people. Rushed decisions made purely based on emotions and what she considers her right - and later (partly) regretting it.
People who think they are right are those who commit the worst crimes. People who think they are right and act without thinking about consequences are those who cause suffering for many.
Are you willing to risk the deaths of innocents, just because a woman thinks she is on a mission?

That's, sadly from my out of game point of view, the most logical conclusion. If she had some information she could just reveal those informations.

Only the Empire has issued a bounty. That "don't communicate" is from the Empire.
The Federation and the Alliance are not involved in this, at least form what Salomé said (for all I know) - unless you take the comments about the Alliance, Federation and Empire of R. into account.
If all three super powers are involved:
There could be reasons why those informations are kept secret by the Empire, Federation and Alliance. That all three super powers apparently try to cover up something should be enough to at least make you wonder what all this is about.
Is Salomé really the right person to make a decision that might affect a lot of people? Would you let her decide for you just because you don't like the superpowers?

Out of game view:
All those I quoted offered interesting and valid opinions and reasons. Thanks for that, I enjoy such conversations.

As a player interested in the story and the progression of the story I surely want the character Salomé to survive the April 29. event and I hope she will reveal interesting information.
At the same time I'm a bit struggling to find good reasons why my in-game character should care about what happens to Salomé.

That said, I'm enjoying this episode of Elite Dangerous. Thanks to all who are creating this (especially Drew)

Its not about trust, Fact is if she dies the information dies.

I wanted to capture her as I want to know Denton Patreus exact involvement and the others from the Empire and the Feds, you know who you are.

I am only hoping that Alliance wasn't involved !!!

Along those lines, I proposed that she not be eliminated on the 29th, as doing so might actually elevate her importance to some:
A-Case-for-Kahina

I don't truly believe CoR would try to murder/martyr their muse, but wanted to throw that out there. Not every Apostle is/was a Saint

Yes I have the same feelings, my focus is on Yuri though.

For anyone interested in the found Generation Ship; I posted a more detailed analysis of it, its functionality, what it's carrying and the copious amounts of audio, in the Canonn Thread Here

Actually it's entirely about trust. I have no reason to trust this individual who claims to be Kahina Loren, I have even less reason to trust the Children of Raxxla. Their actions make that abundantly clear. Yet I am supposed to trust them that this information is crucial? For me, based on their actions, it seems that some secrets are better left buried.

I doubt the Alliance is involved in anything, that would require prying the fence post out of their derrière first.

I may be adding 2+2 and getting a silly answer, but unless I'm mistaken the Guardians favourite weapon was biowarfare, could there be a chance that the shard that scratched the first person be a hangover from that?

(Sorry I keep looking for connections where there may be none)

A dead informant is of no use to anyone, Nobody ever trusts an informant, they just need to keep the informant alive.

Sitting on the fence is a terrible thing, watching extremists destroy themselves is entertainment. Especially when we create the spark

But I'm not suggesting blind loyalty is for dumb people, its good to have something to aim for.

Aim high with the Imps and get screwed and become an Imp Slave
Aim high with the Feds and die in the Navy or get screwed in democratic procedure.

Its those in power who are to blame, they don't really care about their citizens. Luckily as a Cmndr we are protected so we can live the high life while we take advantage of the situations.

We have all done it but for what reasons ?? this is the question

Hey, if the plague that hit the Genship is a remnant from the Guardian wars, we may need to unlock their tech faster than first thought. (I am of course making the assumption there is a connection, and that the infection is going to be used by the devs)

That's the generation ship named after the Greek mythological chap who Zeus turned into a wolf, right?

I'm not saying it's all connected, but

IT'S ALL CONNECTED!!

Its the only way to be sure

I highly doubt it is connected, considering the state of things that ARE connected are far less in-tact, or far more mysterious. This isn't really the thread to talk about the Gen Ship considering it could be a millenia old, so I don't see the connection to the Rift or the DYNASTY project at all. The infection could of been caused by the guardians use of bio-weapons, but I'd doubt it being deliberate.

No I strongly doubt any deliberate action by anyone. I just see a potential for a connection, one that might draw more attention to the Guardian ruins than mere profit via an engineer.

Sure, it could just be coincidence that the Gen Ship was given the name of a Greek mythological figure.
It might just be coincidence that it's shown up now, in the middle of all kinds of revelations about what the powers have been up to.

It's still, however, something worth mentioning, in the light of all the other Greek mythological references we've seen.
