PSA: 13th Legion Rules of Engagement

Many are not as active as they used to be on the forums and many of them left the forums due to lets just say certain treatment. But we are still active in game

Yes just like any group that has been around this long there are stages that we go through, some come, some go, others move to different games but we are still here. My activity has been down alot with the loss of my mother recently (March 15th) and dealing with issues and arrangements.

Sorry for your loss Cmdr. I lost mine too from Alzheimers two years ago and am still dealing with it.

Long live The Code and the 13th and any other group that spices up our game.

Does the Great Insurance God hear my prayers? Does he help deliver the gift of insurance premiums to my foes? Would he accept the offering of my enemy's wreckage as tribute, so that my own next rebuy might be glorious? ;)

Excellent question!

So someone flys a FED ship and is doing pp for the Empire you still going to kill them. Lame. I pay sdc to trolls you guys.

Thats not what he said. He said pledged to the Feds. You are pledge to the Imps and therefore safe unless you have a Imp bounty on ya.

Who?

Sorry, I don't follow desert cults..

Another word for money old chap.
'wealth regarded as an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion'

Who are the 13th legion?

imp slavers who hate the feds.

And I still don't care. Never heard of the 13th legion. Don't give a rat about the empire, or the feds for that matter. I serve no political entity other than the fuel rat mischief. All others can either offer sufficient credits for me to do a job or walk right out the door.

Meh, since every faction is basically identical, except for the Aliiance, which doesn't even have unique ships, and you can belong to all 3 at once, I really don't see what difference it makes, other than an arbitrary "us vs them" mentality.

Posting this as there is a lot of misinformation about our group. We are not griefers or murder hobos. We have a very strict Rules of Engagement. Any 13th Legion pilot who violates our RoE is subject to discipline (and banishment for repeat offenses), and we invite any pilot who feels a 13th Legion pilot has violated their oath to bring us proof of such.

13th Legion RoE:

1) Any Federation-aligned pilot (Winters or Hudson) is KOS (Kill on Sight). This includes ANY type of ship, and ANY skill level, although we do encourage mercy on noob pilots or very weak ships.

2) Any known terrorist is KOS. This include members of SDC, RSM, etc. Members of said groups can be killed regardless of aligned power.

3) NO FACTION or non-Federation ships CANNOT be attacked, UNLESS they have committed a crime against the Empire. This includes WANTED ships in Imperial space. WANTED ships in non-Imperial space may be attacked, UNLESS their WANTED status was obtained in a manner that helps the Empire. Assaulting an Imperial officer (13th Legion member) or Imperial-aligned ship counts as a crime against the Empire.

4) Empire-aligned ships must be assisted at all costs, and any Imperial-aligned ship may request backup from any 13th Legion members available. Attacking an Imperial-aligned ship is a critical offense in the 13th Legion, UNLESS the Imperial-aligned ship has committed a crime against the Empire.

5) The only exception to our RoE is during a system blockade. If the 13th Legion is blockading a system (such as a CG that helps the Federation), ANY ship may be attacked, although it is protocol to inform said ships of the blockade and allow them a chance to high-wake out of system.

To summarize, if you are not a Fed, a terrorist, or a criminal WANTED by the Empire, you have nothing to fear from the 13th Legion. Further, if you are an Imperial pilot in good standing, you have the option to call on the 13th Legion at any time for assistance.

Out of curiosity what do you define as a "terrorist" group

Indeed. Any ammo based weapon could have the effect applied and it would remain permanently. So take a 5x multicannon FdL build, that's 30% increase on each and every gun. Adds up pretty fast and takes heavily engineered guns and turns them into magic wands basically. Supposedly fixed now.

I dont know, mine does get used, and always have. Also before 2.3, I know this for a fact.
I have seen posts mentioning it, but it has not affected me.

Cheers Cmdr's

Originally I wondered why this was in the Discussion section as well, then well, we have not had an Imp Verses Fed mud sling for a while. So well done OP.

Just as a quick note, you may wat to add a link to your website or contact point for those that feel they have been aggrieved, and what constitutes as proof (would netlogs, or json events do for example, or is it video?). Otherwise it does seem like chest thumping and starting the Fed verses Imp mud slinging.

Good point. That fight was a great contest of pure skill on Rinzler's part against every advantage the game is capable of throwing at you exemplified by Jay. It's true that Jay nicked Rinzler after an epic 20 minute battle that had them both down to single digits of hull and he does deserve recognition for it. Without the premium ammo bug though I can't help but think that Jay would have fallen early in that match. God help him and others who rely on similar crutches if Fdev ever nerfs the gimbaled tracking arc as was suggested a few months ago and dials back the shields like they promised. There wouldn't even be a fight then. And with that said, it'll be very intersting to see what happens in the tournament with a more level playing field.

I find this reply slightly inconsistent CMDR jasonbarron.. I do presume we abide by the rules the game does allow and nothing else. Using ifs and buts to praise some ones flying skills is NO a valid assessment. You play and contest with whatever the game throws at you, and not some arbitrarily made up rules invoked by imaginary codes of honour or whatever! The playing field is equal both have access to the same accessories, ships and weapons.
Your strategy is based on ehat you opponent sports, not on would be fair, right or honourable. If you can garotte an opponent to death, do it! I you have to tear his eyes out do it!
Why give an opponent an advantage, it does not make sense! Would I play open in a Sidey ? just to be fair?
So if and but is of no use here, one CMDR might be a better pilot, the other a better strategist..
This game is very much about making ship, armament and tactics work for you, and then keeping as much MUM about it as possible, you want to win right?

Cheers Cmdr's

Not really.

Before Engineers you could make that case about it being better pilot versus better strategist. But now with a handful exceptions like Rinzlers level of skill, it's a matter of who got generic cookie cutter / flavor of the month build for ships and weapons, and who got lucky on the RNGineer lottery rolls (on top of outright grinding those tedious materials out... datamined Wake Exceptions, cracked industrial firmware, antimony....).

Was actually meant to reference Red Dwarf but a) I misquoted and b) it was an obscure reference by any stretch of the imagination.

Probably shouldn't visit the forum before my first coffee.
Not sure if I'm allowed to admit to it on this forum but ... I never have seen Red Dwarf.

Wasn't aired in jolly Dutchland when I grew up :)

Oh...my...Gods!

I'm envious. I wish I could look forward to watching Red Dwarf for the first time. Again. As it were. If you see what I mean.

I think the coffee's worn off...*goes in search of more*

Incidentally I'm on the other end of the spectrum and unlike most I know have actually read the books.

In any case...you clearly have an appreciation for perhaps the greatest rock star of our times, so I'll let you off. But if you get the chance I'd watch just season 1 and see if it does anything for ya. You can live without anything after, but season 1 hit so many nails on the head.

Salome is WANTED by the Empire.

I have to ask then did you post your ROE here and now as a warning that your group intends to disrupt the community event and this is an attempt to make it into a role play thing? The reason for asking is that we have seen the SDC do almost the very same thing as this, yet here you are acting like your own worst enemy.
