Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Hey, so lately I've been noticing that the overlay isn't staying on top of the game(my game is set borderless), so im constantly having to alt-tab to bring it back. I dont know if anyone else is having this issue (a lot of pages to dig though) but I thought I'd throw this out there anyway.

thanks for the great updates

Try this:

Question: TCE hides behind Elite Dangerous, but I have set it to borderless window mode. What is the problem?
Answer: A user reported this issue, but he fixed it by moving his DVI-D connector from the bottom to the top connector at his Radeon R9 390X gfx card.

and try to activate the Aero mode in windows, if it is not active.

Been having the same problem keeping the TCE overlay on top of the game, not 100% sure but think it started when I upgraded to the latest version of Windows 10. Same problem on my laptop so moving connections is not an option.

What I have done to keep it on top is to run TCE in Windows 8 compatability mood and run as admin after ED is loaded.

Having noted that other 'overlay' type programs are having similar problems I wonder if Microsoft have changed the way Windows handles the way the OS addresses the graphics (or something like that lol).

I've noticed overlay programs tend to cause a black screen intermittently since the creators update for 10 my solution was to move them to another monitor where they did not interfere but Microsoft have definitely, mucked something up , tce started doing it and so did overwolf in other games

I've been using Windows 10 for well over a year with TCE. I'm now using the Creator's edition and I don't have this problem. Perhaps you may want to assign a key to display TCE when it hides. It does hide when you're under attack and have been interdicted. Sometimes it doesn't come back into view, so using the keypress can resolve that issue if it occurs.

I've seen that in Windows 10 and the newer Creators edition, it happens sometimes, but not ALL times. I only have TCE as an overlay, so perhaps having two or more overlays could make the issue more prevalent.

I'm not sure it's a Win 10 thing. Running latest CU, too, without probs. I got a R390 8GB, latest drivers, running triple-mon (DVI,HDMI&DP), set to one virtual display via eyefinity.
No probs at all keeping TCE upfront. No comp. mode for TCE, but 'starting as admin' checked.

Two issues that I've raised are still happening. Sorry [heart]

ISSUE 1
- Fixed another issue when working with the Navigation panel and scanning a star at the same time.
-- This still updates the Star I've selected in the navigation Panel to the star class that's just been updated. However when I then go to the star entry to correctly update it's class, although on screen it'll state it's updated in the selection box it's shown as UNKNOWN and after jumping it gets reset back to UNKNOWN.

ISSUE 2
- As per here NEW RANDOM ISSUE

Hey Eventure,

Again great program, and thanks for continuously adding new features.
I have noticed that with the current version, not sure if it has been happening since 1.5 or not, minor issue that when I scan an Asteroid belt I get the camera pop up and it adds the belt to the Cartograhpy Database with no info other than the distance from entry point, which it never did before.
Fairlysure this is not supposed to happen.
It is easy enough to delete the entry, just a pain.

Thanks

I know EDDI and VA HCS Plugin had problems when Asteroids where scanned when 2.3 went live, maybe it's related?

on the hcs discord channel it was mentioned they have updated plugins going out in the next pack update they are waiting to see what fd releases in the patch to see if it will effect it any more

Strange Problem

I have just purchased the oculus rift and a new alienware computer. Being a member of the EVE community since 2005, Elite Dangerous seemed too good to pass up. I love it !!!!

Attempting to further the immersion I installed TCE Mk.II. I got it up and running just fine the first time and noticed it didn't overlay inside the headset.

I found a post on reddit that showed how to get it to work through Steam, so I deleted TCE and reinstalled it after adding the steam version. The only difference is that I installed it into the D: drive.. I set it up with the market extension also. After all was set up I started it up while at LHS 3447 and did a market search then everything shut down. Now when I try to start TCE it states " Windows can't run this program version, contact programmer for updated version."

I have never seen this on any of the other computers I have had. It's in a green information box, so I believe it has something to do with windows defender. It's not VR related since Hello V ports inara and other websites just fine into the VR environment.

Hi,

In version 1.5.4.4 I get a SQL error when suiciding myself on a planet after completing some scan missions. I haven't tried to replicate the error in 1.5.4.5 yet, so not sure if it is resolved.

went to manually select a location for a route got this error not getting wheres its getting the f drive path from i have no f drive ??

Don't know what the issue is, but it's definately not TCE. Check your AV settings and make an exception for TCE. That may be is the solution to your issue.

Would be nice to have your journal log for the session to check, what data is written by ED and processed by TCE.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Eventure,

I've recently changed my CMDR name in Elite, what do I need to do to TCE to make things work again? Any help is appreciated...... and a hearty slap on the back for all the work and continued support you provide.

hey again, just a tiny problem i think,

when entering population for a system that is under a hundred thousand (in the case of the picture its 34,865 or something similar, i can't enter the number and press enter to confirm it. The option for NONE, MILLION or BILLION appears, and when i pick NONE it removes the numbers after the comma and states the population is 34. I dont know if that's how its supposed to work but it would be better if the number is under 1 million it should show the entire number ?

awesome work Eventure as always :D

many thanks

Hi,

In version 1.5.4.4 I get a SQL error when suiciding myself on a planet after completing some scan missions. I haven't tried to replicate the error in 1.5.4.5 yet, so not sure if it is resolved.

Do you want any logs from me or anything to help? It pops up as soon as you die in your ship, when you have the screen to respawn up.

just verified that this is fixed in 1.5.4.5

I have been really trying to get to grips with this but I wonder if I have missed something ....

Yesterday I did a run to a market which I had registered and got the trade data from and used successfully several times in the past but this time I had not been there for a couple of days. When I got there I found that the market had changed quite a lot in the meantime and so all the TCE-suggested good trades were now running at a loss. On checking the trade run in an external web-based program I saw it had more up-to-date market info and produced a more sensible manifest.

I run the EDMC as well as TCE MkII so I am uploading market info to the server but I obviously am not downloading any market information from that server into TCE. So unless I run around markets very very regularly TCE is never going to give me more accurate manifest suggestions than a web-based trade calculator.

So - am I doing something wrong, should TCE be updating itself from the server? If so, then how to I enable that?

on the launcher there is a button to run TCE relay , which will update all your reg'd markets with up to date info from the web base, before you go into TCE app itself, i think there is a margin. on what it updates , but not 100% on that bit

Ah right - I thought that was only to sort out a starting set. I didn't want to click anything as I thought that would wipe my saved data.

Thanks very much, it seems to do the job just fine now.
