THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I do have a humble request.

Now that we found the Mega ship and all the bases in the three areas. The bases were found by people 'Brute-forcing' the planets and I always suspected that we missed a clue that could taken us straight to the bases.

Could someone in the know, tell us what we missed?

Luko is currently sitting in an asteroid base made entirely from meta-alloys saying:

Hassan, I still can't believe she agreed to the T9 plan.
'Yeah babes, they always deliver explosives in shieldless traders. It's the perfect disguise"
She never been the brightest laser in the fleet.

Hassan:
This better work. Alessia is gonna lose it if she has to sit through another one of Salome's speeches.

Luko:
Seriously though, why did you have to give her a name with one of those untypeable letters in it. I really wish that cat had been called 'Tiddles'.

Not that I'm to versed in UK pet naming conventions, but isn't 'Tiddles' a boy cat name?

It is supposed to be Salomé - don't know how to do an é on my phone. ;)

And there is only one 'Salomé' in the game.

Cheers,

Drew.

Normally you long press the "e" which gives you a selection of "e" character variants :)

"French Touch" I guess...
Used to be trendy.

Yeah, my usual English keyboard doesn't have multiple options on the e other than 3. I also found a French pack add on useful for various accent types.

Don't you come round here with your transphobic, patriarchal heteronormalization!

You've seen the pictures on the mission board - in the 34th century gender is clearly a redundant social construct.

Not seen any cats on the mission board yet. I better head over to Reorte and see if any of the Black Fat Felines are left.

If I see a girly one called Tiddles, I'll let you know. Until then, I think we should stick to Fluffy.

Weren't they also three comps in that animated movie with an ogre, a donkey and a cat ? Who's who ?
What a mess...

How come there has been nothing about either Gen ship discovery on Galnet (Ok 2nd found today but still, what of the first?) and only now is there a freelance report up about the Zurara...

I would have expected something a bit more than just Abish's short report. (posting april 26 14:00 game time before someone tells something already exists and I'm blind)

E: I appreciate it's almost certainly not the intended sentiment, but to me it feels like right now the Zurara has been relegated to a foot note that basically says "Hey! Theres a cool looking thing out here if you care", as if it doesn't mean a damn thing and is totally inconsequential when in reality its far from it. Say what you want re: galnet motives etc but there really should be something on there about Zurara and the Gen Ships. In saying that, there never was an article about the third alien crash wreck... Which hosts part of my query, are we only to know about these things outwith the game? I expect not, but still.

It's basically up to the players to write Galnets for these discoveries. Seems like mainstream media is trying to keep it as quiet as possible.

Then why did galnet publish that freelance report?

I'm all for people saying they're covering it up, but that argument breaks down entirely when freelance reports like that get brought through

We may be living the end of an era, times are a changin' and the story liners want to go on.
I hope I'm wrong as I'm always fearing a sudden shut/ending of the FR Mystery plot....

I think it was in Drew's interview with O-Ant, he said Galnet should be considered as a publishing mechanism, not a news provider. Therefore, if the mainstream media suppress stories Galnet has nothing to publish, but if a freelance article come along it gets publshed. It is the mainstream press doing the covering up.
