THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Just to add something here, Tanksy and I followed Raan Corsen not Salome, as did Relient Owl.

It seems that Tionisla was RC's destination not Teorge. What he did in Tionisla is unclear, but he docked. He only led everyone to Teorge when Salome was killed.

That to me says RC's main purpose was to get to Tionisla and him going on to Teorge was a secondary mission as part of plan B in case of Salome's death. Big question is what went down in Tionisla?

I followed him also. He stopped at Teorge before Tionisla as well.

It's a classic and very apt both in meaning and for the tombstone

And more importantly has a Star Trek connection also.

Congratulations for Children of Raxxla; you're now known as the SHAME OF THE GALAXY for letting SALOMÉ die under your protection!

I hope that appears in the book!

Probably wouldn't hurt to be on the friends list of Salome and everyone in her protection wing too. Instancing is more likely to put you with people on your friends list.

Right. I had her in my friends list and was flying an unarmed iCourier in order to sneak behind her. But she managed to beat me at the interdiction mini game. I am evil and sneaky but a terrible combat pilot. Sigh ... :(

Those protecting Salomé weren't unarmed. Isaiah even got Potter down to 50 % hull.
Salomé didn't die because of anybody trusting SDC. Salomé died because of

1. Instancing issues, the prime-wing got separated several times, had to regroup. Dropping on her wake took way too long.
2. Module damage on the Seven Veils. Had Salomé been able to jump when she wanted to, no constant module-malfunctions, she would live. Nobody can stop a buckyballing wing.

CoR didn't trust SDC for a second. That is why we erected such high walls of secrecy around us.

Hope you know that your flight was safe and sound because everybody tried to get Salomé, Dave. But enjoy your little "victory".

Like getting a well known ganker like HP on Salomé's friend list , no warning ? Oh , and telling him about the decoy too...

That wall of secrecy doesn't look very high to me...

If SDC were not trusted, why were they involved? Regardless, If I have spread false info I apologise. However, I most certainly thank you guys for your involvement in a fantastic event.

Anyone could be on any of the VIP friend lists. That was sort of the whole point about them being live in-game players accessible to all. Not just for this event but for some time now.

You would certainly have done better to get Salomés account from Drew and get his approval to purge her friends list, would you?

Well, you'd expect a group called the CoR to tell Drew that this was a dreadfull idea?

You could have used that "secrecy" of yours to have a "secret" decoy ?

What's the point of calling yourself CoR if you let that kind of things go ?? What did you actually do to deserve that name ?

""" Escaping""" the Empire for years and then falling for the dumbest trick in the book, laid down by the most well known ganker on this side of the galaxy.... WoW, maybe Salomé wasn't that good after all..

I mean... there is just no excuse.

Victory? Are you really serious about that? I really want to think you're NOT serious dude...

Bad day at the office Eisen, give it a day.

If I was you I'd be wanting to rage a bit, but mistakes were made and the wrong people trusted, no getting around that one when many of us here were subject to KOS rulings but the assassin wasn't.

Beyond your control? Maybe. But for those of us who were subjects of a KOS policy which was never openly rejected by the targets or CoR you are unlikely to get much sympathy.

I think there were two separate groups - COR (Children of Raxxla) was the core group but they are not good at PVP normally. Then there was this group PAC who seemed to want to control the second layer of defence - they were the ones who allowed certain other players to be part of their white list, thereby allowing said players through to the last line of defence.

Now from a technical game point of view, I guess it was Salome's choice to have this guy on her friend list (assuming that is correct). However, if none of the opponents had been able to locate Salome anywhere all these threads would be about how boring things were and how those wanting to kill Salome had no chance.

What will be interesting to see is how the ending is written up - Salome was not killed by someone who was acting out of loyalty to the Empire, but by someone acting on a "personal" motive -

Haven't been there myself, but if Tionisla is still the location of the mausoleum marking the passing of "notable commanders and worthy dignitaries" then maybe Salomé wanted to try and find a particular commander's corpse there and then have them cloned at Teorge. Quite how the clone would know the location of a certain planet, since dead and cloned bodies aren't going to retain those memories, is the question... unless Guardian technology could be used somehow?

Vrep +1

At the end of the day it matters not a jot.

Drew wanted to give everybody a chance to be involved in this chase. That includes the gankers, unfortunatly. It was his decision to keep the bad guys on her friends list, not ours. And indeed, CoR and PAC were different groups in this, with different tasks. After PAC was formed CoR completely stopped organizing anything that was involved with the Allied Command.

What were the other characters doing? Raan went to Tionisla, got there, then went to Teorge. What about the others? What messages did they have and where did they get to in order to convey them?
