THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

I admit it. I like clones. :)

I have to say, you're looking fairly prescient:
  • I put this message in this system for a reason: Ok so Teorge is signficant in of itself.
  • The old lore will tell you why: OOlite references to Teorge are in passing which leaves Dark Wheel and the reference there is clear.
  • I'm not the first and not the last: And that pretty much confirms it.

A known PvP griever, if I'm not wrong, was a bodyguard.
Wrong. They WERE the main body guard. They were her wing
Not a direct bodyguard. Just in the PAC.
yes, for clarity - you are strictly speaking correct. They were not the immediate wingmates. I was, hands up, playing fast and loose for the sake of ease. However, there were - from what I understood several wings of wings. Potter was part of the team directly assigned to protect. My understanding is that the immediate wingmates were not carrying weapons.

You are all wrong.

I know exactly who was in Salomé's Prime Wing.

Cmdr Salomé
Cmdr Eisen
Cmdr Isaiah Evanson
and myself.

Anyone who tries to make out that Salomé's killer was some sort of bodyguard or protector... he wasn't.

For good measure, PAC were never her direct protection. :)

Then I'd be curious what wing has he left, and how he got close to her.

Fair enough.

But the high and mighty strategist how came up with the plan for no weapons unless you are on a special list (not CoR I know) and who trusted the most famous ganker in the game need to be feeling like the utter tools they are right now.

Sooo... The Formidine Rift Mystery is the place where the homeworld of the Thargoids is, after it was infected by the Virus from INRA, the Alioth corp., and Salomé wanted to show us "the truth", meaning showing us what really happend to the thargoids? and the superpowers didnt want that to get public, so they decided to silence Salomé before she could tell anyone about the genocide?

Do I get that right?

I don't think that's it at all. Powers are all fooling us by pretending to be at each other's throats while they plan their exit when the aliens arrive, that's what I gathered.

How much of the Oolite series is considered canon? I believe the last short story Altera is, and possibly Finis, but are they all?

I'm not really sure. I didn't even read much of the story I linked, I just thought it was interesting that it uses the same system. I'm not even sure who wrote it, so it's probably nothing. Drew's official Oolite lore might be worth checking though, since there's already some crossover.

Only Altera.

Good to know!

Well Xbox was a victory.

Got Yuri back safe and sound.

Salome.... well she got what she deserved for trusting a known idiot, Hope CoR get over it lol.

Has someone posted the 3 messages from Rebecca from the listening posts already.

Pure Trolling stuff from Rebecca there, nice one.

It's more than 3, I think I have 7 or 8. Lots of listening post in that system.

EDIT: link to Drew's official Oolite lore https://www.drewwagar.com/books/oolitesaga/

I already held me hands up to that one. He was part of the designated core of protection wings though correct? Part of the SDC planning committee?

Sorry, quote should be Zenith.

Actually what you said makes me right. But who's counting? I think there is Latin for that too. Or it might just be Banksian.

As a fellow outlander - YOU BRING DISGRACE UPON OUR CLAN FOR BEING WEAK! WEAK!

This is the reason Tavenar got ganked...

Depends on the aftermath of this, I'd say. If word actually goes out to the public that there's a big conspiracy and evidence for it, and that hostile aliens are coming, just when people start seeing alien ships jumping away from smoking wreckages, that could cause quite a stir.
And if it's business as usual, well... this was overhyped then.

Also, while I'm posting here: congrats to TomasEkeli / CMDR Enshiv for finding the beacons before everyone else, congrats to Harry Potter (never thought I'd be writing this!) for pulling off a memorable assassination, and greetings to all the folks who decided that keeping a known griefer as a bodyguard would be a good idea! And here I thought that Megatron constantly keeping Starscream around was unrealistically stupid.

I think more than anything a super big Congrats need to go out to Harry and SDC for suckering multiple packs of gullible ninnies and babies into believing that just this one time SDC was here to help because who more than them would know all the underhanded ganking tactics that would be deployed to stomp our precious Salome.

Were you guys armed?

Getting close was only a matter of instancing and having 25 or 26 Ly of jump range to keep her on sight. Once in supercruise in her instance, launching the interdiction process wasn't a problem.

Probably wouldn't hurt to be on the friends list of Salome and everyone in her protection wing too. Instancing is more likely to put you with people on your friends list.

So, All the Listening Posts say, if anything, is that Rebecca was one of the "Higher Ups" who were trying to hide things. That explains her involvement with the Rift and the Zurara.

However, What about the FSDs that Raan knew about/stolen? Or was that merely a plot device to explain his long range jumping during the event?

What is the "Curious Transmission Partially Decoded" in Tionisla talking about? Where is the orbital graveyard, and what does the message mean? Isn't this talking about Rebecca's Cobra that originally led to the R.R. Line?

Yeah pretty much. I was hoping for some answers today but all we got was confirmation of what all the dynasty logs already STRONGLY implied. Still don't know who is behind this, what Raan knows about Sirius/Meta-Drive, who Tsu Anabelle Singh is, why they stole meta alloys and went to Col 70, what Wreaken is doing in Col 70...it feels like Zurara was a way bigger reveal than this event, which felt like more of an epilogue, and it just leaves all the questions that we already had unanswered!l without offering up anything new!

All that said I'm not bitter about it, just a little confused as to why all this had to happen to point out some listening posts (which would've been found anyway due to their proximity to so many popular systems)

Post a thread and tell us what happened step-by-step? If you were part of her wing, your story's definitely wanted.

Some of us refer to this as Kobayashi Maru...

But, the whole point of Kobayashi Maru is to face and deal with certain failure! :D

Slowly catching up with this thread but it's bedtime so will find out tomorrow how badly it went, though there are some hints in the last few posts that not all is lost-well done Drew!

All I can say is Guardians of the Universe2 was very good indeed, and if you go see it then stay until the very end of the credits.

Just to add something here, Tanksy and I followed Raan Corsen not Salome, as did Relient Owl.

It seems that Tionisla was RC's destination not Teorge. What he did in Tionisla is unclear, but he docked. He only led everyone to Teorge when Salome was killed.

That to me says RC's main purpose was to get to Tionisla and him going on to Teorge was a secondary mission as part of plan B in case of Salome's death. Big question is what went down in Tionisla?
