THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

Bad day at the office Eisen, give it a day.

If I was you I'd be wanting to rage a bit, but mistakes were made and the wrong people trusted, no getting around that one when many of us here were subject to KOS rulings but the assassin wasn't.

Beyond your control? Maybe. But for those of us who were subjects of a KOS policy which was never openly rejected by the targets or CoR you are unlikely to get much sympathy.

Not so bad IMHO..3/4 pilots made it and the message was delivered. Mission accomplished, CoR, even if your Salami was munched by a wizard pewpewKid !

Congrats, you fanatic cultists ! :)

You would certainly have done better to get Salomés account from Drew and get his approval to purge her friends list, would you?

Knowing it was not in your power to remove her friends list explain a lot. I actually think it was fantastic event. Me and friends from TWH had good fun, we did not stick to rules too much as event was free to all and escorted Raan on his final jumps.

I was trying to organise 20 pilots (which ended up more like 30) and cannot even image how would it be to try to organise 1000, so man in my opinion you guys did extremely well.

Thank you.

Drew wanted to give everybody a chance to be involved in this chase. That includes the gankers, unfortunatly. It was his decision to keep the bad guys on her friends list, not ours. And indeed, CoR and PAC were different groups in this, with different tasks.

So basically, you haunt the shadows of secrecy, while Salomé gets slaughtered in plain sight by a guy who is known to shoot innocents every time he can ?

Right on then, and good job !

So she died, but the important thing was the messages got through...so a pyrrhic victory then...which is exactly what she accused the corps of. Irony anyone?

Except that an explorer found the listening posts before the event started, meaning they all could have died and we'd still know everything we know now.

Ynow, for a second I thought PAC's plan was going swimminly. I really thought their mega-obvious, mega-loud, mega-flawed approach was the perfect setup for a false flag operation that would keep everyone running in circles. There was no guarantee of success, sure, but at least wouldn't paint a big nice target on the VIP's back and give it to THE BEST KNOWN GANKER IN THE WHOLE GAME in a silver platter.

Enjoy your ridicule, PAC. You certainly earned it.

Amen.

What were the other characters doing? Raan went to Tionisla, got there, then went to Teorge. What about the others? What messages did they have and where did they get to in order to convey them?

Exactly. Personally I think Salome did her job of designated decoy rather well. It's a shame that one died, but the next one's probably already being brought out of the Axlotl Tanks as we speak.

I was watching Malik's Twitch stream while he was collecting intel from the listening posts in Teorge and after that, he was aiming for Maia. There was this talk, that it was all planned beforehand, that she will die. Rumours are, that even Mr. Wagar knew about it.

If u think about it a little, it quite makes a sense. The outcome of the event - the betrayal - will be superb ending for the book. Contradictory character aka Salomé killed in the process by hired notorious PVPer. That will make her some sort of martyr even in the eyes of commanders, who didn't like her. Not to mention the plain stupidity to allow HP from SDC to get so near her. Result - discovered logs about great conspiracy, the story will continue.

Now I'm not saying, that what I wrote above is plain true and that I believe it, only pointing to another possibility. That is all.

Those protecting Salomé weren't unarmed. Isaiah even got Potter down to 50 % hull.
Salomé didn't die because of anybody trusting SDC. Salomé died because of

1. Instancing issues, the prime-wing got separated several times, had to regroup. Dropping on her wake took way too long.
2. Module damage on the Seven Veils. Had Salomé been able to jump when she wanted to, no constant module-malfunctions, she would live. Nobody can stop a buckyballing wing.

CoR didn't trust SDC for a second. That is why we erected such high walls of secrecy around us.

Hope you know that your flight was safe and sound because everybody tried to get Salomé, Dave. But enjoy your little "victory".

Your reasons and excuses don't make things look better but much much worse.
Simply accept the disgrace your failure has wrought and whimper away.

But no keep digging,,,,

You wing composition would barely provide security for a Sunday afternoon progress to the local bar.
That wasn't a protection detail but fancy parade.

Argue all you want results speak for themselves..
It is what it is.

Sorry your lordships,,,

shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame
shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame
shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame
shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame

It did seem very contrived if I put the to foil on, the other vips got there safely, the message was found pre event, she could die and die well, and who better to kill her and roll with the flack than the infamous HP handily placed to Execute her and be the guy everyone loves to hate.

*returns tin foil to draw*

Yup PAC and Co are the fools here.

I'd also like to say thank you to CoR for your part in the event and for the many many things you have done prior to it. Despite my fears (did I mention PAC fools?) I had good time and enjoyed the event.

Lets face it Drew wanted Salome to die, its boring sticking with the same character especially an obnoxious Imperial brat who has no disregard for basic human life.

She was Ambitious, Driven, Clever etc but also but self centred and narcissistic and emotionally devoid, even after her transition to Salome.

I hope CoR disbandon their cult or at least get on with something worthwhile like finding Raxxla

Were you guys armed?
Yes we were. Healer beams + frags in my case.

I think more than anything a super big Congrats need to go out to Harry and SDC for suckering multiple packs of gullible ninnies and babies into believing that just this one time SDC was here to help because who more than them would know all the underhanded ganking tactics that would be deployed to stomp our precious Salome.

Social Engineers of the Year ,,,,,

bravo, bravo, bravo

Part of spinning off PAC was so that the sheer number of people wanting to get involved could have a place to organise themselves.
CoR were never part of PAC. This was a deliberate choice on our part so we could concentrate on building up our faction's people and ships without having to constantly look over our shoulder or be limited in what we could or couldn't do.

When we heard SDC and CODE wanted to join PAC, we strengthened our internal security to the point where we were almost turtle. We never trusted them for a single second.

We practiced with PvP loadouts, we practiced making and evading interdictions, and we practiced jumping as a synchronised wing.
We clearly got good at the synch jumping, because our flight made it to the bubble, despite module malfunctions in Salomé's ship, instancing issues, and lots of folks trying to find her.

While all eyes were on Salomé, the other 3 flights got through to the destination. We've lost Salomé who is our faction's figurehead leader. The other 3
She has fallen, but Raan, Tsu and Yuri got the secret out.

Post a thread and tell us what happened step-by-step? If you were part of her wing, your story's definitely wanted.
That will come, but I need some rest tonight. It's been a stressful time these last few weeks preparation.

What I will say is that Drew has some real drama for his final chapter. Being chased, hot jumping, the damage that goes with that, and having to pause to regroup due to getting separated and instancing. I would like to see how that comes across.

Interesting. What was the reaction of the three of you to having HP in system with you? Did you at any point tonight consider him as an ally, or was he always considered a threat to be avoided?
