Which Start Point Are You Going to Choose?

There you old fellas go hijacking another thread ;) I'll get us back on topic.

So, the big question for OP is, "We get to choose where we start?" For some reason I thought we just "woke up" somewhere, perhaps with amnesia. ObsidianAnt did a video on this awhile back, and I don't remember him having a "Where would you like to start?" screen. I may well have missed it.

There are two starting points that you get to choose from. Although, on the PC, one says "random station" it's always Trevithick Dock outpost in LHS3447.

The other choice is on Asellus Primus at Baker’s Prospect (planetary station).

Edit: for clarification, the choice is made when you create the CMDR in-game (at least on the PC)

Okay, that makes sense. Now that I think about it, Obsidian must have skipped past that in his video due to the amount of time it would have taken him to create his Commander. I'd give you more rep, but I all out!

Sorry Old Duck! Was not trying to hijack anything was just responding to what was going on my friend.

Thread was hijacked long before you came along, LOL. They don't call him "Captain Buffalo Billl Thread Hijacker" for nothing. And then there's his sidekick in the sidewinder, Acid Rain or something like that.

now i know you ain't talking about me there duck lol

Well I would never hijack a thread with silly, off-topic nonsense like pictures of Harry Mudd. That's why I'm going to talk about the SRV instead. I want to drive the SRV day one, even if I don't go far. I want to drive under and around my ship and get a real good look at it, to get a sense of scale. I might even go far enough to do a ship recall so I can watch my little boat come in from orbit and land in front of me.

On topic, as always, that's me!

well unless there is another old duck posting in here, it was you that went off topic with the harry mudd picture. and i was only being humorous with my reply :p

Did I mention how nice my Sidewinder (and soon after that, Adder) will look from my SRV? Mighty nice, mighty nice indeed :)

so when PS4 comes out, you will have pre ordered? Cause you don't even have the game yet according to you ... & you can flag this to mods again crybaby ... idgaf

As a seasoned PC vet, I'd suggest choosing LHS 3447... build up to planetary landings for a number of reasons, but the main one being role playing and getting in to the game a bit first.... trust me, it'll make that first landing all the more epic, spend time searching for a planet you really want to pop your cherry on :) Looks for a vista, a crater or canyon, with a nearby star setting or rising, or with a gas giant with rings. You will be blown away.

Nice outlook on that mate, not thought about it that way.

Still undecided on the start point, but after 8 months of playing the game on Xbox i don't think i'll use the SRV either way until I'm out of the Startwinder.

I'll either store it or just start without and crack on.

I only bought an Xbox One to play ED, so i'm really excited that PS4 players finally get to play this game and it will be fun to start again. Also, great news about Thrustmaster HOTAS being compatible

I get air sickness from flying, so I'll start on land. After receiving my drivers licenses, gonna bribe an legislature to rename the planet to "Nu Orleans" and open an exclusive pub for CMDR's only, filled with young alien girls, called /The house of the Rising Son". Lord knows, I'll be the only one. Think about it, a pilot needs a place to relax and unwind. No need to bring that home to the little woman. Free drinks for the best story teller every night (Sorry, hookers not included). By the time most of you guys and Acid have upgraded ftom your Sidneys, I'll already be rich.
