Quince is even more broken than we tought

1. Quince fast cash - a arguably broken game mechanic.
2. Quince is a high security system but everyone knows cops are ineffective - another broken game mechanic.
3. Commit murder in one solar system, police will not hunt you down outside that solar system - another broken game mechanic.
4. A bounty only lasts 7 days? Another broken game mechanic.

I guess it's ok to exploit 2, 3, and 4 in order to raise awareness about #1.

Really, truly, outside of poking the anti-exploiters with a stick, I do understand the anti-exploiters' position regarding Quince. I used it and made a fair amount of money in a couple days, though like someone else mentioned, I had to grind up influence to start getting some missions there to make it profitable. And the way the missions complete themselves is bugged, possibly on purpose. Possibly, not.

Once Frontier has our money , it's game over. There is no contract or covenant with Frontier that I have agreed to enjoy the game in a slow paced way. I don't worship it.

And it's also not my crusade to nerf Quince because the regular ways to earn money are a slow grind. Some players are willing to work 6 to 9 months for a large ship, others are put off by that. And saying 'Well, there's other ways to enjoy the game besides earning money" doesn't really accomplish anything. Maybe for you that is true. Other people just want an Anaconda NOW.

Millerport is in lockdown, so almost no missions offered, and I didn't see a single passenger mission at Jeffries High with the destination in Quince. Does the lockdown affect passenger missions to the system? Or did something happen on the backend where the BGS won't offer passenger missions where the destination is within the same system?

It's not what i think Alex, i am just trying to understand where you think he has broken forum rules to be banned as you suggest, and i don't think you have highlighted one?

Rusty's just expressing his opinion as we all are. This is a great debate. It's fun to unravel each other's arguments. :) *Pokes the dog with a stick*

Devs closed down pax missions pending patch.

It's a shame, FDev can't fix the myriad of actual game breaking mechanics as quick as they can out Quince, which was hurting no-one.

I do have some questions tho;

@ all those complaining about Quince, and now that it's shut down.. In what way had the game improved for you now it's shut down?

@FDev; When are you going to make it so I can actually play an entire evening without getting disconnected from one of your servers? This actually makes VR Impossible. *Game Breaker*

@FDev; When are you going to fix galaxy map? *Game Breaker*

@FDev; When are you going to fix the planets not showing up after a jump? *Game Breaker*

@FDev; When are you going to fix the CMDR missing during SC ?

@FDev; When are you going to fix the stupid cheating NPC AI in RESs?

@FDev; When are you going to fix the Auto Dock?

@FDev; When are you going to fix the NPC on Landing Pad?

If you could do it as fast as you kill the fun for players, it'd be great!

Not sure but the answers to your questions may be here https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/354066-Elite-Dangerous-2-4-and-beyond but probably not to the detail you want

Regarding Auto Dock: Learning to fly your ship in a flight simulator is a rewarding experience.
Regarding "Stupid Cheating NPC AI in RESs" - What are they doing that's cheating? I spend a lot of time in RESs, I've noticed no cheating.
-sidenote- When an NPC does something that in your eyes, that of a fellow player, shouldn't be possible in gameplay, that's "cheating" but when you do something that FD themselves have confirmed is an unintentional glitch, or exploit, that shouldn't be possible, that's "fun" and "hurting no one"?

I love hypocrisy.

I am well able to dock manually. That does not negate the fact that the Auto Dock is broken.

Please explain; How do NPC ships disappear and reappear with full shields? NPCs have infinite ammo. NPCs have infinite chaff. (Yes I know I can un-target, and Yes I know I can use fixed weapons)

Let's be frank and honest here. One of the big points of the patch said they had fixed the mission system. And I would hardly call it a 'glitch'..

I love being able to play my fav game, Elite Dangerous, with my VR. How-ever, I cannot do so, due to the multiple bugs introduced in 2.3, which I note, ironically, you omitted to reference.

Hey Cmdrs,

Thanks for the feedback.

As players were able to accept and complete passenger missions in a way that they were not intended.

I believe this has been temporarily closed while this exploit is fixed.
You don't need to call it anything, it's been confirmed by their team to be both unintentional and directly referred to as an exploit.

I see you still haven't addressed the *game breakers* Which speaks volumes..

In relation to the Passenger Missions... Are we to assume then, that as they have not stopped the ability to stack scan missions, that those are indeed NOT an exploit, and ARE working as intended?

I await your answer :)

Are these the game breakers that literally break the game and send it crashing to the desktop?
Or are they things that make it difficult to play - for you, as I do not seem to have the same troubles as you?

Now that you mention it, I do get crash to desktop too.. But I was referring to game breaking as in game play. Here's an example.. So far, I am now waiting 12+ minutes to just connect to the game.. Yet here I am on my MacBook watching youtube and reading the boards without problems. (That means its not MY network)

If you are a VR users, then you'd understand that being in a hyper jump for sometimes 5 minutes or so, is nauseating. Jumping to a system and seeing no planets, is kinda game breaking ?

I don't have all the answers, nor can I tell you when someone who can do something about the various bugs will get around to fixing them. I find that re-logging fixes the invisible planets, among other things, and takes all of twenty seconds. Be glad you don't have to deal with the bugs in multi-crew - re-logging (the only way to fix) means losing your crew.
Your expectations of me, a fellow player, are too high, my good sir.
I find a few minor annoyances, such as the game directing me to multiple T class stars while my route is planned to only go to O,B,A,F,G,K and M class stars, but if I actually pay attention, I can avoid calling upon the mighty fuel rats.
The scan missions have remained unchanged, I'm sure they'll fix that when they find an unintrusive way to do so.

I play lots and lots and hardly ever have those lag times.
Have you sent in your network logs to support ?
Have you contacted support about all the Issues you mentioned ?

Quince was reported in January so you may need to wait a little, probably not as long a Quince (5 months) but still maybe a week or so.

My simple point was; I wish they would be so attentive to players who can't actually play, as they are to stopping players using an exploit, that FD themselves created.

I really don't think that's too much to ask..

I am a VR user (Rift) and do not have the problems you describe. So - its not a general problem.

I play in both the Rift and the Vive, and I don't experience any delays as a result compared with playing on the monitor. If you're having network issues, that's nothing to do with VR.

The map selection is still buggy and difficult to use, but aside from that and the odd texture loading in on the star, I'm able to play without issue. I'm about to head off on a month long exploration trip with the Rift on tonight and I've spent the last few days getting mats for Felicity with no jump lag in the game at all - it's been remarkably stable.

Remember surfing the web does not equal connecting via P2P and to the FD servers - same transport mechanism granted, but completely different routes/services.

I don't know if that's fair man, they didn't do it intentionally.
