An interview with one of Elite Dangerous' most hated

I actually am widely hated, and I am attacked relentlessly anywhere I go with a high population. And it's been that way for at least 6 months. I'm better known through my contributions to Reddit and YouTube, than through the forums, which I rarely visit. But now that I see how toxic the forums can be, I'll have to visit more often.

Well reddit is what it is, I guess.
Never seen you on YouTube prior to this thread though, so I suppose it is performing its role in letting folks know you exist.

Glad you're having fun though. The longer you stay here, the more newbies will fail to learn of your exploits.

Ye been smokin too much if yer that paranoid...personally, I never heard of ye till till joke thread sprang up. Ye remind me of someone from a different game, but english isnt his first language so not the same person. At best yer just noise on a forum and perfect justification fer avoiding open ^

Oh and redditt is a complete cesspool where whining and moaning is the main feature...sane and rational minds should avoid at all costs ^

I actually feel really bad for the chap who had to flatter Null's ego for the span of an interview. It doesn't say much for one's journalism career to be chronicling the self-aggrandizing brain droppings of some combat-logging griefer with cringy delusions of grandeur.

Controversial topics are exactly what some journalists want to write about. From what I'm told, the article is performing well in the distribution channels he released it to.

Possibly because it mentions Elite Dangerous, ever considered that?

Since this idiotic topic (and cringy OP) is back at the top of the forum (courtesy of the OP of course) I feel less stupid by posting. Read about one page and my head hurt and I despaired for humanity.

Isn't there a special forum it can be moved too?
A locked for this...self-aggrandizing hot mess would be too much to ask for I suppose.

Ok, I'm just getting up and and drinking my first cup of coffee. A few thoughts occur to me now that I've had a day to all of the posts in this chain.

1-Punished Mobius is CMDR Mobius's alt account
2-the writer of the article is Zarek Null
3-Zarek Null's video "Never Take Candy From a Stranger" is actually really funny, and almost won me over to his cause. Not quite, but almost.
4-Goose4291 should get some kind of special prize for post #211 on this thread

The poor chap is hated? Oh dear, that's not very ice is it! I like many others am left wondering who this 'person' is and to be honest, I've never been back to the starter systems since I was first able to fly... Perhaps the OP needs to re-take the training mission to also learn to jump out of a system.

There's a little hint in the above for you Ian... Training missions, you'll find them on the main menu! :D

Eravate is much more than a starter system. The controlling player run faction, Adle's Armada consistently maintains patrols consisting of one or more engineered combat vessels to protect new pilots. This in turn draws other PvP inclined commanders, often, criminal. Sometimes entire player groups invade. There are lots of interesting conflicts that arise in this system. Your lack of awareness of this doesn't prove that I'm the irrelevant nobody you make me out to be. It just proves that you know very little about current galactic politics, which makes you the one out of the loop.

Actually my alt got attacked in in Adels backyard when I started so I don't put to much stock in their abilities - I doubt it was you who stopped me either - They waffled on about some kind of Dr. before I decided to leave. As for galactic politics I am glad to be out of the loop or at least your loop. Thankfully the galaxy is large enough for me to never have the misfortune of meeting you in game. I wish you and your ego all the best but once again I have to ask who are you? I've genuinely never heard of you. I know you say you post on reddit but to be honest that place is such a pool of decomposed sickness I never go there - So you may think your 'famous' but be honest with yourself, it's only in your own tiny little sub-reddit.

However I do look forward to hearing tales of your daring do's and combat logging exploits here in the future... Perhaps you could teach me how to log as that's something I've never done.

I went back a few weeks ago in a cobra. Trevithic is rather a long way out! I mean, not Hutton far, but still. It must be a full time job taking a combat 'vette out there every day just to find a fight you can win. I pity the person who needs to do this... If I was that pitiful an excuse for a combat pilot, I certainly wouldn't want to be interviewed about it or draw attention to myself.
Now that HP and GF have heard of him, I can imagine the rest of his time in game being rather miserable... Though of course the challenge of a few real fighters like that may help him improve, so long as he doesn't keep logging that is.

Your Inara role is "explorer." Skillful navigation of the galaxy is your strongest skill. And you think Trevithic Dock is in Eravate. You can't even successfully navigate the starter systems! If navigation is your strongest skill, I'd love to see you in combat. I'd invite you to meet me in Eravate, but I doubt you'd be able to navigate there successfully.

17 pages of some person nobody's ever heard of feeding his own ego. I almost have to give Z some points for so successfully trolling the forum.

To be honest I feel really sorry for the guy who wrote the article. He seems to have thought he was interviewing someone important or famous in ED like Harry Potter's cousin or something. But instead he got trolled hard by Zarek who, judging from his avid use of his Darth Vader voice changer helmet, is just a kid playing at being a cute wittle space meanie.

Is this evil enough for you?

I read the interview or skimmed it would be a better word, whislt sitting on my own throne, and what dropped into the moat below had more substance than anything I read.

As with others here we should all know better than to feed the troll....damnit....

Given the volume of responses in this thread, you all have unwittingly throned me as Overlord of the Trolls.

It's one system away. On the other hand I'm further. As to your invitation, I'll decline lest a newbie be caught in the crossfire. Upthread I invited you to Shinrarta where the chances of that are far less. Assuming that is, that you have a permit... But a famous killer like you won't have a problem with that.

Explorer, yes. It's my second playthrough. Engineers changed everything so I wiped my save and started over as an explorer. I'm really not much of a combat pilot, so please forgive me if it takes me a minute or so to make you combat log.

Been around since Alpha build and I've never heard of this self-promoting, ego-driven character.

I dare say there there are NPCs more hated than this relatively unknown person.

Self-appointed overlord, bwahaha.

I've finally remembered who the OP reminds me of. It's the guy in this video at 3:27.

"Quite an imagination."

Wow, 18 pages now, Maybe I should crown myself overlord of... uhh... Pie, yeah, that sounds like a good system... I'll kill anyone who dares enter Pie, unless they have fruit, I'll let them live in exchange for fruit - Need it for all the Pie...

My thoughts, too. :)

Cheers,

Drew.

An essential ingredient to any successful overlordship is to avoid offending the galactic gods. And since my actions are invariably offensive, the only way I can avoid offending the gods is to remain unknown to them. Clearly, my plan has succeeded.

Remember last year, someone declared themselves to be Queen of Sag A*?
I wonder is this the same person with a new name, just in an easier system this time.
