THE FORMIDINE RIFT MYSTERY (Part 4)

At my age it's about the only sinning I get to do, but being old I do it veerrrry slowly and make it last. :D

.....

a mug of coffee (in my ED mug naturally!) lasts me a whole hour over breakfast while I catch up wih the threads! ;)
Whereas I've been up late after being caught up with the new Jack Campbell book, so having a cup of tea in my big mug before I get going. Takes about a pint. After that I should be ready to go.

Don't you find it's cold by the time you get half way through it? I found I stopped using my largest mug as there was so much surface area for the tea to cool, that I was leaving half of it as it had gone cold.

Is this what Brits took to worrying about post empire? :p

Oh but you see, even me as a German I protest this is a matter to be discussed at length (particularly in absence of further clues, hints of clues, or tin-foil-shielded ethereal wisps of clues). And while, apparently and historically, [\insert tongue-in-cheek symbol] ze djermans should disagree with any such notion on account of it's Britishness, as I am told - even though I take a rather dim view on the goings on at the time mostly instigated by my countrymen, it pains me to say - the matter lends itself to serious consideration. So, Saaol, Jorki, is there anything about the ED mugs you can relay regarding their propriety for lengthy tea sessions?

Firstly I would like to state that I am impressed by the efficiency of German engineering, the cleanliness of German cities and countryside, the beer and the sausages! (And sauerkraut if mixed with juniper berries and apple sauce).

now I can't speak as to lengthy tea sessions, being a dedicated coffee drinker, however I have a hypothesis that the FD mugs, rather like the Hutton Truckers Mug, are quantum coupled to the ship's fsd and bleed some of the jump energy through into the liquid contained therein. So for lengthy coffee sessions an Elite mug is a very sound investment. However the annual Canonn meetings can drag on a bit, especially when the fig rolls have become sticky through storage at too high a temperature, hence I find an insulated travel mug valuable to have as a backup. ;)

Drinking one pint of tea just to get enough caffein, when you just have to drink 2-3 small cups of espresso, is just way to inefficient. And espresso tastes so much better than hot water with a bit of rotten leaves. (Real tea, green tea, takes to long to make - all that ceremony stuff …).

In the U.S. you're only allowed to drink tea if it's cold and sweetened with buckets of sugar. Preferable it will contain no actual tea, just water run off from the storm drain between the sugar and brown dye factories. Oh, and it has to be filtered through an artificial lemon... Needless to say, I'm a coffee guy.

Originally it was a derelict anaconda or python or something like that before they put mega ships into the game. It has been there to find since the game was out, just nobody fount it until recently.

No, this is incorrect. The wreck came much later. At launch FD could not put derelicts in the game. And in any case, Drew repeatedly said the clues were not simply POIs.

They clearly said that it was in game from launch and that it was an Anaconda before 2.3. Just because something isn't widely utilized in game doesn't mean they couldn't put it in game at all.

Nope. Have 2 made by a local potter down in Cornwall. Both keep it hot, in fact too hot to drink for a while.

And people to play cricket against.

Incidentally, I'm currently ligging around the 'western' side of Wregoe sector adding systems to EDSM and a significant number of them are tagged by one 'Harley Quinn'.
Ahh, my early exploration days, and still my best paying system out that way.

Found a lovely dead end system with some decent asteroid belts 100k from the primary which I thought might be interesting for if they ever brought in player asteroid bases, but that was pre engineers and Jumporium so just another easily accessible system now.

Still must head to the end of the galaxy's tail at some point in time.

Almost forgot. Rugby as well as cricket. I'm told there are other sports around but I can't see the point of them with Rugby and cricket available

Out at the settlement near h&s 1St time for me, shape of settlement seems to be pointing somewhere? Is this a clue, probably already discovered

I'm glad to hear that this isn't entirely heretical within the Canonn. Not a tea fan myself... apart from when I'm ill... my taste buds change a lot during a cold.

Funny that, but I agree, nothing puts me off coffee like a dose of flu; colds I just keep drinking on through!

can't speak for heresy within Canonn though-I've always been a bit of a heretic!:D
