Lots of people think the Thargoid content should be released a lot faster.
Lots of people think they should have free icecream, too...

'real players'.
Sheesh.
Thankfully I held back on repping your Angry Frank reference.

Difference is we already paid for Horizons and an ice-cream maker gives it directly to the customer after ordering. Frontier has teased Thargoids for years and years and years, yawn.
That scripted encounter with a Thargoid was cool a few times, but not anymore. it's OLD and boring. The same scripted sequence over and over and over again. Great game design guys. *sarcasm.
We haven't had new things pertaining the Thargoids in a long time. Yet they released this cool trailer with an alien base, crashed ship.

FDEV say that the Thargoids will be triggered by player activity.
Which now much like the fabled Generation/Megaships only appearing after they were added to the patch, is obviously a huge lie!
So yes, I fully believe they are holding back the only interesting content they currently have to hand, to be realised just when the PS4 buyers are ripe for exploiting.
The coming fixes patch might delay things because there is A LOT to be fixed.
Sure if you play in solo, group or just enjoy mind numbing repetitive game play, these issues might not be obvious.
To the real players who play in Open, these fixes are way way way overdue.
Lots of people think lots of things.
Most of the time it's born out of ignorance about developing a huge, high profile spacesim project like this.
I think that if FD could, they would.
I am not lots of people, but I think that we should let FD take the time they feel is needed to create all this new stuff.
The only thing I know for sure is that that alien ship looked and sounded and behaved simply awesome.
If that is an indication about what the rest of that stuff is going to be like then I am very happy.

I'm so tired of waiting I've plugged my ps4 back in to check out the no man's sky updates.
It's that bad...
And none of them realize how hard it is to actually develop such content. Thankfully, there are more people who want quality over speed.Lots of people think the Thargoid content should be released a lot faster.
Your impatience isn't a Frontier issue.E3 2017 is Tuesday, 13 June till Friday, 16 June.
The PlayStation 4 release is on 27 June.
Yes, because having an uber-engineered ship that can't ever win would be universally welcomed by all on these forums, right? Right? That would just be lame if all it takes to kill a Thargoid vessel would be one uber-engineered ship instead of a wing or at least some thinking.

The aliens have taken so long to arrive that no one gives a *@!- whether they come or not any more.
Oddly enough I, too, fired that up again recently. Cleared my save and started from scratch playing the first of the four play modes (the one that's effectively the same as the first game had).
Hmmm.
They've made some bits harder (you don't get blueprints everywhere, just from certain places), there's an additional currency as well as credits that you use to buy blueprints, and I really, reallydon't like the fact that you now have to repair cargo slots on your new spacecraft if it's a crashed one you've appropriated. And it costs more and more for each slot repaired.
