The Real Goldwinder

Do you guys like the idea of a gold sidewinder paint job? Or do you think it's a wasted bonus as most of us will be out of our sidewinder's within the first few hours. Would you guys preffer a decal or bobble head or something else you can take with you on your journey as you play that will remind you of the early days when you started. Thoughts?

I love the idea of a shiny Gold Sidewinder. I hope to have a whole range of ships and use them for different purposes. The Sidewinder is one of the most manoeuvrable ships in the game and has a potentially decent boost. I want to be able to 'buzz' past people coming into the game six months down the line so they go 'W T F was THAT?'

Yes it is slightly pointless as an exclusive considering most people will be out of the Sidey in an hour or two and probably never fly one again except as a cheap taxi.

I would of preferred a gold or chrome cobra tbh, more chance of using it again :) a gold sidewinder does look good tho and I kept my original sidewinder on xbox.

I hear ya. I would have preferred a decal that could be transferred to any ship, but my optimistic excitement for ED in general (especially now that there's a countdown on my PS4) eclipses any tiny disappointment I have about this.

Whilst i like the idea of the Goldwinder and will keep it and probably upgrade it into a Battlewinder, i would have preferred them to announce the Cobra MKIV as a pre-order bonus. I hope they give it to PS4 players who order Horizons before a certain date, in the same way they did for PC and Xbox players.

Even if nothing was given for the pre-order, I would still be happy simply from the opportunity to finally play in the ED on my console!
I dream of Beluga )))

I like having the goldwinder as a bonus. As for not keeping for more than a couple of hours, from the evidence of my PC accounts I'll be keeping it around and using it for fun fairly regularly.

I'm with you on that. I'm super excited to get flying and have fun. But I was curious what everyone is thinking about our little prize.

Don't know about anyone else, but I heard rumor that in addition to the free decals the gold paint is actually gold leaf. SO, I'm going to be spending the first few hours stripping the good leaf off, and take it to the pawn store and exchange for more money. With the extra cash, I'll pimp out my srv, with some crome wheels and such.

'Never look a given horse into its mouth', is a Dutch saying. Even if you say goodbye to your Sidey after a couple of hours, you can always keep and store the craft, and upgrade it at a later date to make it a great little spacecraft. Giving a golden Sidey is a nice gesture of FD I think.

Here's the gold Sidewinder. I think it's a cool memorabilia. I'd rather have a Bobblehead or other cockpit decoration.

Dont be surprised that after a long time of slowly getting more and better ships, you eventually go back down the ladder again. Small ships simply require more skill, and eventually thats where you'll find many elite cmdrs. :)
