Okay I need approx coordinates for the center of the Synuefe site. That would be fantastic <3

Which one ? There's 10 of them. But given a specific site name, e.g. Synuefe NL-N C23-4 you can snag it from EDSM: https://www.edsm.net/en/system/id/9626725/name/Synuefe+NL-N+c23-4

I don't think you have sufficient information to make a tetrahedron. The two remote sites plus any site in the ruins core makes a very irregular face (scalene triangle) so it's not possible to describe a regular 3d object from it. You end up with an infinite number of equally valid constructs.

I went off the first site discovered. Distance from the new site to Synuefe should be ~8700 ly. I'm going to work out some various shapes and give you potential coordinates I have the exact distances for precision on my whiteboard.

Miscalculation, disregard this post until this line is removed

Basic Measurements for the Ancient Ruins:
Distances (sites):
Blae Eork -> Skaudai = 8428Ly
Blae Eork -> Synuefe = 8682Ly
Synuefe -> Skaudai = 12034.7Ly

Angles:
Skaudai (Synuefe,Blae Eork) = 46.171°
Synuefe (Skaudai, Blae Eork) = 89.377°
Blae Eork(Synuefe, Skaudai) = 44.452°

Approximate site coordinates used:
Synuefe (357.34375, -49.34375, -74.75)
Blae Eork (8602.75, -219.813, 2641.938)
Skaudai (-5477.594, 504.156, 10436.25)

Centroid(X,Y,Z): (1160.83325,78.33,4334.48)

Parallelogram Coordinates based off point to point deviation:
(-13722, 674, 7721)
(2768, 334, 13151)
(14436, -772, -7869)

Hope this helps people experimenting with different shapes. I'll keep at it and see what else I come up with.

I'm halfway done creating a spreadsheet to make it easy to convert from J2000 to ED cartesian coords. Looking at the data for Tabby's Star, the ED coords are closer to -1249,147.6,219.4 which is nearly spot on Pru Euq UT-A c3, which is unfortunately a K type star, rather than F. The distance has about 645 ly of uncertainty according to wikipedia, so there's definitely some wiggle room. The best location fit F type star is probably Pru Euq WJ-A d31

Maybe once the science settles down FD will put something in...?

Thanks for that - yes that sounds about right. I also suspect FD will put something in when whatever is causing the dimming is worked out. I like the "natural" cause which is most likely IMHO: two massive dust clouds and other objects at Lagrange points for a large gas giant with a huge ring.

But if FD put in a Dyson sphere, I won't mind ;)

If terraforming was complete, how would the scanner know the planet had been terraformed? Unless it can detect terraforming machinery of some kind or knew the past history of the planet's condition. I would think the possible conditions it could detect would be terraformable, terraforming in progress, or ELW (this is the human version, but alien terraforming options should be similar).

Who knows how these scanners work but they will be programmed for human activity and not alien activity.
