For FDEV - Frontier account question

Hi guys,

At the moment i play Elite Dangerous on Xbox One, but have pre-ordered my PS4 copy and have a question - when i go to play ED for the first time on PS4, do i log in with my existing Frontier account email and password?

I know the game saves will be unrelated, but just checking i can use the same Frontier account?

They do have a FAQ that explains all this (I'll see if I can find it) but your ED account on your PS4 will be automatically created off your gamer tag (account name) on the PS4.

Yes.

Users who don't have a Frontier account will need to create one. You'll be able to use your existing login.

I understsnd the purpose for a pc player to have an Frontier account. But what is the point for PS4 players? I just enrolled and all I see is to buy from Frontier, none of which will work on a PS4. PS4 as they have in other games will eventually gave to buy in regards to ED from them.

Assuming it works the same way as on Xbox, you'll be able to buy from the Frontier Store via the game itself (it launches the console's browser and takes you to a special version of the Frontier Store).

So it (the ps4) 2ill use ones account name to open an frontier account. Sould one already have a frontier account, they'll then have two, one to be utiluzed by ps4 and one for...?

If you already have a Frontier account, surely you would just use your existing account. I've not seen anything saying you'd need to create a second one.

You won't need a second Frontier account. You will just link your PSN ID to your Frontier account as the url to the FDev comment in my post suggests. Don't understand what is so difficult to grasp here.

If the question is can you link 2 PSN IDs to the same Frontier account to that we have no answer.

Really? Well, I guess that makes sense, since the majority of people buying this game probably don't even know this forum (or a special Frontier website) exists. I much prefer what you suggest. If someone else confirms this, I'll give you rep, once my rep regenerates.

Going, slightly off topic. What are reps usefulness. I've gotten a few, and given a few, WHY?

It gives you more green pips beside your rating (above your avatar). I tend to take people more seriously if they have more pips, because it's a measurement of how much the community likes what you have to say.

You are just trolling me now arnt you Bill? :D If you create a Frontier account now you can link it to your PSN account at launch. You won't need or have two Frontier accounts as long as you link your PSN ID to your Frontier login. You cannot do this until launch.
