Server downtime - June 27th launch day!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who checks in on the forums from work
By 'check in' do you mean 'refresh all day long'?
I've just realised with the planned update for all platforms on June 27th that means the server is going to be down :/
Can someone from fdev confirm if this is going to take place during the same timeframe as usual server updates? (10am ish GMT) as I really don't fancy spending launch day unable to play until the servers come back on
Its a nearly month away, i'm sure they will inform people as we close in.

Well this would definitely put a damper on launch day if it's true. But we will have to wait and see. But as said in the previous comment, I'm sure they will update us as we close in on launch day. [big grin]

Yeah, don't do that, there's absolutely no reason to 'rush' to be into a game the very very first moment, one major reason many issues persist on many games launch day, is because spamming refresh and others, attempting to get in game, thus instead of servers having to handle a high load alone, they suddenly also have to handle millions of refresh/spams, effectively ddos'ing many servers on launch days. Don't plan launch days like that, do yourself that favor. Try, wait 5-10 minutes, try again, repeat until in. Or go do something else.

I was.
I sit on the "My Activity -> Subscriptions" page which refreshes automatically, then Command-click on all the updated threads. That sometimes opens a lot of tabs!

Also, did you disconnect your Xbox from your router, or your router from the Internet? It does make a difference - perhaps not with ED, but how the Xbox itself recognizes the lack of connection. Try disconnecting router from Internet but leaving Xbox plugged into router (or via wifi) if you didn't do that to begin with.
I've seen the ESO message, but it's at the main "log in" menu. It allows me to at least change servers. I'm surprised you can't get to the menu that allows you to play the tutorials. I understand with ESO, since character creation happens before the "tutorial" (Cold Harbor escape), and the ESO tutorial is also MMO once you get to a certain point, much to my chagrin when all the treasure chests are already looted :/
Anyway, back to ED, I just don't understand why we can't play the tutorials without Internet. Is it this way on the PC?
I get two kinds of disconnect playing ed on xbox, if it's an fdev server disconnect I get booted to the main menu and can only select tutorials.
If my live connection drops I get booted to the main xbox dashboard with an error message.
I don't think this was the case in the early days tbh as im sure you used to be able to at least get to the main menu! :/ that might explain the conflicting views tbh.

to be honest we could all be wrong and it will be a lot smoother than we think, for all we know the game could download complete with update so it would end up being one download instead of 2 downloads. but i wouldn't listen to me, i've been sniffing the nail polish to much
