PS4/PS4 Pro info?

I think that is exactly what we'll be doing when we fire up Elite for the first time (at least those of us who haven't played ED before) - staring without blinking. I better stock up on eyedrops!

some of us might need more than eyedrops duck, some may end up catatonic with shock at how bloody beautiful it is and there sidewinders will just be floating around while the pilot just giggles like a maniac say "my precious, MY PRECIOUS"

FYI, I've updated the first post in this thread with a few questions, trying to cover everything that people might be interested in. If you would like something extra added, let me know.

I prefered the doctor.

I'll "unregenerate" on ED launch day. I've scheduled the day off, but since I have to wait until 11:00 EST I'll have plenty of time to go though "the process." This will also hold FDev's feet to the fire - ED in exchange for the Doctor!

Better yet, when Brett posts his Q&A for ED PS4, then I'll unregenerate. Should be a good motivation, unless you all want "Let it go!" earworms forever!

I'm just curious - is FPS locked or variable? I don't mind 30 FPS on my PS4 Slim when I'm down on a planet, but it would be nice to experience 60 FPS when I've been interdicted and it's just me and that dread pirate in the emptiness of space (no reason not to have 60 FPS here). NMS recently added a unlock framerate 'switch' and it's a great option to have.

In my experience it is usually the game that dictates FPS.

That's what I meant, but I will update that question to make it clearer.

Just to make sure I was clear, I'm talking the standard PS4. I suspect / hope that PS4 Pro can hit 60FPS consistently. I believe the "poor man's" PS4 should be able to hit 60FPS in deep space, but may have to scale back to 30 on planets, in rings, etc.

I wouldn't be so sure. There are no absolutely official numbers, but the consensus is that XboxOne never reaches 60, except CQC and perhaps the training missions.

Greetings TheSynopticVision, and to the rest of the Elite PS4 Community aswell.

New guy here, first time posting. (Please be kind!) :D
As many of you guys and girls, i'm eagerly awaiting for the game launch.
I have never played an Elite game before, but i'm a long time follower of the game development, since it was Kickstarted.
Never got to play the game, cause i own a crappy laptop and i use a PS4 for my casual gaming habits.
Hearing about the game launch on PS4, last december, was god given gift for me, as it was for many of you guys, i suppose.

As such, i have a couple of questions i would like to see answered (if possible) by the Devs.
I would be grateful if you could update the first post with them, TheSynopticVision.

- Will the game support the Thrustmaster T-Fight Hotas 4 since day one, or it's something that will be added to the game at a later day via patch? (I know they will support this joystick, as they said it on a Stream, but i'm not certain if it's something available to us since day one or not).
-Will the game support Surround Sound 7.1 (Please do! It would be/sound awesome!) :D

That's pretty much all i have to ask the Devs for now.
As many of you, i also think Frontier should be marketing the PS4 version of the game (Cause it's inexistent at this point). Why not a stream with Ed, showing the PS4 build of the game running, while showing it's unique controller features (As the Touchpad Galaxy Map or playing the game with the Hotas 4, etc) and answering questions from the PS4 Community, alongside one of the game Producers. I mean, Ed streams the PC and Xbox version all the time so, why not the PS4 build? I would satisfied many of us, who already preordered the game and it would appeal to so many potential new costumers, which probably wouldn't even know the game is comming on PS4, due to the lack of marketing. I think they're missing an opportunity, to be honest. I've never seen a game so close to launch and with so few exposure/marketing. We don't even know if the game has gone gold or not. I hope it did, otherwise we better say goodbye to the June 27th launch date. But that's my own opinion, of course.

It's a pleasure to be part of this community.
Hang in there and be patient, Commanders. o7

That's very likely a design choice (thus my original question). Many games purposefully lock at 30 FPS to give a more consistent visual delivery. NMS actually released this way, but then later provided a "switch" to unlock FPS for those of us who want that.

I think the PS4 hardware can easily deliver 60 FPS in empty space rendering just a couple of ships. My NUC (integrated intel graphics) gives me way better FPS in empty space than it does in a planet ring, for example.

Anyway, doesn't hurt to ask!
