Oh, I have one very specific question:

For existing PC Fuel Rats that have the Fuel Rat decal, could we get that applied to our PS4 accounts pretty please?

(EDIT: I realise this a manual process, but I think Crunchy has said there's only 6 existing drilled PC rats signed up, and some of those may not have qualified for the decal anyway. So hopefully a very low resource job for some poor DB admin - i'll send them a Snickers?!)

Thats a great one, I totally forgot about that, we did ask it a looooong time ago to deafening silence, then it got hijacked by PC peeps saying they could have 100s. Add this one for sure. :D

The logic doesn't necessarily flow.
The disks may well have been pressed with a gold copy of the app code but invariably games launch with a day 1 patch to correct various things.
With Elite being an online game, connected to a back-end server, frontier can easily delay any launch by taking down the BGS connection for PlayStations.

I hope that everything will hold up for the 27th.
- Frontier will be able to rollout the 2.3.10 patch as planned.
- The servers will hold up to the spike in new users that any launch brings
- The Sony backbone can handle the ingress / egress across their network
- The local ISP will allow traffic across the first leg without any unnecessary throttling.

We've seen these kind of launches quite often, CoD for example. I expect no major problems. I'm a positive thinker by nature. ;)

Dav briefly touched on this in his stream lately. FDEV do not intentionally 'limit' instances (least not on PC - as there is no news on the PS4 we must make some assumptions), and indeed they have an automatic balancing between servers so if one server is carrying too much load because of a lot of players in a single instance then a second server begins to share the load to accommodate this. They do however state the 99 player 'soft cap' as a recommendation because when you go over 100 there will certainly be issues with rubber banding, lag etc. So I think it will be the sam e for PS4 and I any case, getting that many people int he one instance is usually reserved for 'big events'.

Just read what you wrote back again...... "least not on PC - as there is no news on the PS4 we must make some assumptions". I don't want assumptions, I want some facts. Hence why we want the question answered.. FOR PS4. :rolleyes:

You may be mis-understanding my worrying for doom-mongering.
I constantly get told I am overly optimistic, but only because I assume that having vocalised a concern, someone else picks up the problem and fixes it.

The way I look at it is Xbox was technically the beta ahead of the ps4 launch. I also don't think there will be major issues with ED ps4 thanks to Xbox. I also am a positive thinker and that sometimes screws me over

I do want to know one thing that maybe some ED vets can fill me in on. I noticed in the frontier store all the different things like ships skins, etc. I bought the Legendary edition and comes with 1k frontier points, one thing I noticed is buying nameplates for the ships that you can write whatever you want (except profanity). One thing that worried me about that is it only says available for PC AND Mac, so we can't purchase those for consoles? I would love to put U-96 on the side of my ship seeing that's what I'm naming it. I will be really disappointed if we can't for consoles.

You will be able to buy ship name plates and boundary ship id on the store for PS4. The reason it says PC and Mac is that the www.frontierstore.net is for PC/Mac only. We will get a separate shop page on the frontier site only accessible from within the PS4 game.

The Frontier Store just sells stuff for PC and Mac. PS4 will get it's own store available via the console like the XBox has.

do not worry dear inmate we will get the name plates we just have to do it in game with our frontier account log in, same as xbox so don't worry we will get everything that pc *coughs* and mac *stops coughing* get customisation wise. hell i have my eyes on the pink and purple laser colors day 1
