FD, are you serious? New Dolphin and Orca paints :(

Masterful art can be terribly ugly and offensive. Often that's the point.

But yeah, I don't think that's what they were going for with these paint jobs... :D

...

I can understand some people wanting this to be a more serious or severe game overall and not liking sporty, playful, and bright themes while others do, or perhaps they see some value in the irony of it – just think of the Red Baron and the Flying Circus as they came to be known.

It's a good thing we don't have to buy and use those paint jobs that we don't like. As I mentioned earlier, I actually do kind of like them for what they are, but they don't really match my playstyle in the game.

To each their own.

Cheers.

How about Creative Cloud (All Apps) for $5 - http://www.techsoup.org/products/ad...-–-access-to-discounted-rates--G-49388--Tasks

And honestly, I would likely spend more than just $4-$6 for a more inclusive pack, and I'm sure others would too, but certainly not $120. Of course, we're talking about gamers, and among them live those who have spent upwards of $10,000 on auction sites for virtual items. https://successstory.com/spendit/most-expensive-virtual-items-in-video-games

There's little left the human race could possibly do to surprise me.

I'm not a 501(c)(3), but that's pretty cool. Gonna send that along to my wife, who works just such a non-profit who could use a license like that. Thanks!

I actually don't think they look that bad, but two different versions of yellow is pretty lame, not that I'll be buying them.

Copier of other ideas, inventor of nothing really innovative - Apple effectively stole the concept of the WIMP interface from Xerox (way back),

That's a fairly common myth.

At the time of the famous PARC visits Apple had already been working on their own graphical interface. The visits to PARC were sanctioned, as was Apple's being able to use tech they saw there themselves. There was a financial arrangement between Xerox and Apple, whereby Xerox were allowed to purchase pre-IPO Apple stock, and in return Apple employees were to be granted free access to PARC and it's technologies.

Also, the graphical interface that PARC had was woefully poor and did a lot of things wrong. They didn't even have overlapping windows, and their windows were modal rather than modeless. The concept of a graphical file manager, with icons to represent individual files, is pretty much 100% Apple's doing.

Apple did far more than a lot of history revisionists would like them to have.

i think it's fairly telling that a lot of Xerox employees left and went to work for Apple, because Apple wanted to get the tech out into the world, whereas Xerox basically sat on any tech that wasn't directly related to photocopiers.

Xerox bungled badly. They could easily have been bigger than both Apple and Microsoft combined.

Looking pretty slick! Any chance of taking a few more of the others?

How about Red?

This thread is a travesty, why are there no pics of the Wayfarer Dolphin yet in here? If it isn't corrected soon I'll have to break my own policy of not buying anything from the Frontier store until exploration gets some love and buy the paint myself just to fix this dilemma!

Ok, I clamoured for paints for the Dolphin. But please, don't blame me for this.

Usually, I like what FD is bringing on. But come on, this isn't my little pony. The two-tone idea is nice, but the execution... I wouldn't want to be seen dead in that. "Cute" is the first idea that came to my mind - but I supposed this was Elite Dangerous, not Elite Digestive Biscuit.

I love them.
