PS4/PS4 Pro info?

Its not quite that clear cut, I can see both sides. The Cobra Mk4 was available for the limited time on both PC and Xbox. As PS4 users we never got this "limited time" chance because the game was not available. I too would like to see it available for PS4. Its one of the questions. :)

Fingers crossed.

It was an "Incentive" if everyone can have one then it wasn't an incentive.

But it would be a pity for PS4 CMDRs to not be allowed to own one at all through no fault of our own.

Are they not for sale? I would think getting a free one during a promo would be a nice incentive, but if no one else can buy one. There really wasn't an incentive, if I understand the particulars of a cobra 4 vs ...

apparently the last 2 weeks before xbox launch they decided to thank all the players who pre-ordered on pc or xbox1 with the cobra mk4 for sale in ship yards not (i will repeat this for APalma) NOT a free one, once it launched on xbox the offer ended and since then any new commanders got nothing ziltch nadda zero cobra mk4's.

now like i have said we don't know what FDev have up there sleeves, and this my opinion only, they could decided to release a new ship like a cobra mk1 or some other classic elite ship for ps4 players to say thanks for waiting or they could give us cobra mk4 as well and make everyone who wants it happy.

anything that is incorrect i am sorry as this is from memory, and as stated any predictions or stuff related to how FDev employees work is my own personal opinion. thank you

The Mk IV was never free, you still had to actually go out and buy it. And if you weren't eligible for it by preordering Horizons or whatever, you can't have one, ever.

A quick PSA: I think that the list of questions is pretty meaty by now, and frankly I can't think of anything else that we might want to know. However, I will check this space the whole of tomorrow to see if someone comes up with something else that might be interesting.

After tomorrow evening though, I will not add any more questions, in order to give Lloyd the whole day on Thursday to go through them, maybe print them, and rehearse his answers (hoping he won't ask Sandro for help with that).

Also: I apologise for not having indicated the name of the person who asked each specific question. I've helped myself of everything I could find, at times rephrasing things a little. This is stuff we all want to know so I'm sure it really doesn't matter much who asked what. But if you feel particularly offended by the lack of credits, let me know and I can add names in parenthesis.

Nah, he already knows who we are. Well, some more than others perhaps.

you should sign it the PS4 Breakfast Club lol

As much wish-list items as questions:

Can we save controller bindings (as separate files) to USB and to PSN-cloud?
(to explain, this is because on PC when an update comes out, it often deletes your controller bindings, and you have to enter them all again by hand... unless you save them manually or use something like EDProfiler)

Do/can we get multiple named config saves for controller bindings?
(again because using EDProfiler means you can have one setup for DualShock4 in non-VR, another for VR, another two for HOTAS in both, a mining specific setup etc etc)

Saving, transfering, config files, oh my. Are you new to counsels? Although I'd have no problem with the purchase of the best gaming pc, I chose a PS4 for a reason. I just wanna play games, plug it in, turn it on, and open a beer, and play until the dawns earily light. Unplug it, put it to bed, and then do it the next night. I was young once, and involved in the forefront of pc's. There wonderful, but too much work when playing a game. Joy sticks, mouse, keyboard etc. As one ages, the thing they loose the fastest is dexterity. And though muscel memory is still there, it really really lagging behind. Brain to finger, push, finger to brain, wha? Brain to fingers never mind to late. Jesus, the Hotas have 12 functions and more if ya double up on some. A DS4 has about the same. I ain't got but ten digits, and I need four of them just to hold the dam thing.

Enjoy your youth and your pc, someday you be asimulated just as I.

I would imagine that this is actually held in config files held on the PC? As far as i know these files are not accessible through the PS4 - so it's really a console issue not an ED issue.

You've been able to save and upload settings files on PS4 for some time, at least Nov 2013. Here's the manual: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/gb/ps4/settings/data_system.html

Or a video if this is easier to understand:

So what i'm asking is for controller bindings to be explicitly included in the settings file most PS4 games have, and/or a separate file.
I am not asking for separate files for each binding, you'd manage those in-game, under the normal options area.

To restate, the issue (even on Xbox) is FDev release an update, you apply it, log in, and have lost all your controller bindings. If you have customised these heavily (see my post #352 as an example of the number of inputs you have to change on a DualShock4) it can be annoying.

Ignore the sarcasm Stinja that's a really good question. Xbox users have reported lose of bindings after updates. It's a great question. Bill try to see things from others perspective, not just your own.

Think it's happened to me either once or twice and the only time I can Deffo remember was when the game came out of gpp into full and possibly when horizons came out.

You do have a local save that includes settings/binds but I think they only get wiped if there is a change to the core game that needs to do this.

I either take screenshots of my binds or even snap a few pics on my phone just before an update just incase tho lol ;)

Yeh, saving them to the cloud or USB would be much better! :)

Edit: Do other games which allow custom binds save them in those settings Stinja? As all my settings get backed up as probably yours do with PS+.

The local save does get uploaded to the cloud as do all xbox saves, they get overwritten when/if the new update creates a new one.

Best to just roll with it as I think it happens for a reason :)
