FDev, you just upset a *lot* of people.

I'm certainly no FD sycophant, but I'll join those for once and say this response from FD was very fair given the impact this exploit had on the PVP scene.

From what I'm gathering so far, the manner in which you've conducted your exploit punishment have been nothing less than extremely clumsy. Instead of only removing the rolls which were exploited, you've also elected to remove anything that might have been a legitimate roll. What you're literally telling us is "We know you cheated, but since we can't tell which module you cheated to upgrade, we're taking this sledgehammer to everything we think might have been exploited." I'm seeing a lot of people having lost their legitimately upgraded modules... and some performed the exploit once out of curiosity.

You're losing players pulling this stuff, guys. It's bad enough you guys took said sledgehammer to anything that looked suspicious, but according to reddit posts some people still have their exploited modules.

I'm really glad I didn't let my curiosity get the better of me... I probably would have had my FAS wiped from existence if I had from ONE module.

[EDIT] Since some people would rather not actually read the thread and see that I attempted to clarify, I might as well add this in. I jumped the gun and posted this believing that any roll viewed as "suspect" would be targeted. I didn't spend a month dedicated to engineering my FAS in all aspects to have it dedicated over a false positive, you know. But obviously as more information has come out it seems FDev have a way of actually tracking these things, so... I tried admitting to the mistake, but nobody's actually READING the thread.

Y'all really like to resort to immediate derision and vitriol to any opinion you don't like though, do you? What a nice bunch you are. :p

You get some rep from me for the EDIT:

Takes morals to admit your mistake.

Now...

As for anyone losing more than they cheated on well they will get no sympathy from me I'm afraid. If you cheat, expect the worst and certainly don't think it makes you good at a game - if anything it makes you worse as you gain no actual skill by doing it. Not of course that i am implying you, Blaze53 cheated.

Loosing players - Despite your EDIT I have to talk about this. Have you not considered the damage that the cheaters did to the games player base? PvP players always complain they have no-one to fight... Not surprising is it when you cheat just to gank - Harsh? Not really considering the one sided seal clubbing that takes place.

To those that did cheat, I think you should be named and shamed as well as having you accounts deleted.

All right, so I edited the post to clarify what was going through my head at the time of posts.

Let's see which keystroke-happy idiot goes explicitly off of the thread title now...
.
As others already said, a clarification doesn't do much good any more after 19 pages or replies already came in. The way the original posting was written, it very much seemed like you complained about being hit by punishment. The community was loaded on the exploit, so the announcement that punishment has been implemented just allowed all those (me included) to celebrate and let off some steam.
.
Your original version of the posting just went the very wrong way there. The updated version is very different, but the thread title still points the other way, as do the first 19 pages of this thread. You won't be able to really change this one any more. You're better off to ask mods to close this one and make a new one, where you state the problem more clearly and also with a less clickbaity and more clear thread title.
.

Look on the bright side, you can still play ED

If you cheated to get your frag on a TF2 server I was admining, you'd get the ban hammer from the server without question....

..............
I swear...

Take my advice, just walk away from the thread, don't look back in as you will just get more wound up.

It is not the first time that someone's first post started a "jobbie"-storm and it won't be the last.

Most people are just posting that they are glad that the cheaters got whacked, any that thought you were one have probably been convinced otherwise now. Nobody is stalking you with torches, pitchforks and suspiciously-well-made nooses.

Thanks for starting the thread, it has made me laugh - sorry you got bothered, don't worry it's just the interwebthingie. ;)

Y'all really like to resort to immediate derision and vitriol to any opinion you don't like though, do you? What a nice bunch you are. :p

If that's how you feel, then my apologies :(
I,like many others, have had it with the recent denials from prominent members. Now those members are very quiet......

The 3 stacked scan mission thing was working but only on a per faction basis not on a total number of scan missions accepted. That might have been intentional or not.

Hi there,

Actually it's not even 3 per faction.

After you already have 3 (or more) of a restricted mission type, you won't see any more when you refresh the mission board menu screen.

You can accept any that you can see.

This is working exactly as was designed, but may well be revisited in the future.

Thanks,
Dom

So if fdev are taking a hard stance on this exploit will they do the same for others? Ie logging etc.

How is that hard? They use the modules the obtained by cheating and all other modules of the same type. The keep the Cr and Ranks they obtained by using these modules.
