If they can only pvp using exploited ships, then good riddance to bad rubbish.
Agreed!
Though I must admit surprise it was so widespread in these "major" PVP groups.
If true...

Open might be safe from gankers? :x
So...i've read on reddit that apparently pretty much every major PVP groups are leaving the game, due to the lack of motivation to legit reroll their ship.
Meaning that "pretty much" every major PVP groups were involved in this. Interesting.

Nope. It's a result of bad players playing the game badly. It's a much FDev to blame as it is the exploiters. If you really need exploits to be competitive or grind yourself to death, then it's a result of a bad game design.
You and I both. However, I would suggest that FD gaining a reputation for being soft on cheaters is a far more direct route to killing the game than certain elements of the community complaining about grind.
Are you surprised?
It's that way in all competitive games I ever played. The big "pillars of the community" clans/guilds/player groups are those who cheat the most.
The competitive nature of those players basically forces them to cheat. To stay competitive they have to taking every possible advantage and the affirmative echo chamber does the rest.
Some - maybe many - might not even want to cheat, but peer pressure will push them over or they leave the group.

Are you really suggesting 60% of users on this forum are 'serial combat loggers'?.they continue to do nothing to tackle money exploits and combat loggers.
And when I say combat loggers, I mean serial combat loggers....The thing is, if they were to do that, they would probably lose about 60% of the accounts on this forum.
They are lucky they did not get a complete account ban (or at least a lifetime ban from Open), which FD would have been entitled to do under the terms of the EULA.Oh look...cheaters are upset. If you've actually used exploit especially on more than one occasion it is pretty fair to remove everything you've had. Actually, not enough if you ask me. No mercy for cheaters.

Disclaimer: I didn't exploit.
If people combat log on you, then report them since it is a technical breach of the EULA... if they were combat logging because of griefing or ganking class behaviours though I would expect them to report you too.Are you really suggesting 60% of users on this forum are 'serial combat loggers'?
Perhaps they disagree with your assessment in some way? I wouldn't know - I'm not a dev. Then maybe if FD actually did something about cheaters for a change peoples outlooks might be different. Many of the people angry are not ones that has been affected by the purge as they (Myself included) did not take part in using this exploit. They are angry because this is the first time in a long time that FD have actually shown some balls and done something, yet they continue to do nothing to tackle money exploits and combat loggers.
