Is it confirmed that Salome's Demise had exploited mods? Seems highly likely, of course.
Don't worry, this will hit them in the wallets for sure. They don't do anything about combat loggers. They don't do anything about people who used cheats in open play PvP (I still see people in open I know 100% used to use shield hacks) but people use an exploit to lessen the garbage engineer grind and they finally decide this is the time to take a stand?
Just about everyone I have talked to is walking away from the game now. This will hurt everyone, including the non-PvP crowd.
Enjoy the emptiness of open play because a large portion of the players who frequent open are quitting.
.Well, an image of a crying dog?![]()
You mean the guys with ships modded to the 9s with god rolls that our legitimately modded ships can't compete with won't be there anymore? O noes! Golly whatever will we do? I imagine for every one of those gone, at least ten might venture out of solo/Möbius so I'm guessing Open will be more populated, not less.

Gave me another happy thought. No regrets visiting this forum today.

Thing is. Even if the people who were wiped do decide to come back, their reputation is shot to hell, anything they have ever said, done or will do will be discredited and forever labelled as exploiters and cheaters.
Now for some that wont matter, but they can say goodbye to magazine/website articles and media mentions from now on.
Any kill, or event they disrupt will not now be down to skill or better tactics or gitting gud. it will be attributed to them cheating, even if this exploit is closed another will be blamed for it.
Any contest, or event they took part in is now tainted, any achievements they have done nullified and I expect them to be excluded from future events also for fear of tainting them also.
Any form of credibility, notoriety or pretence of being constructive is now gone and tbh the only way left to salvage anything is just to leave quietly and find somewhere else to mine salt. Because it's now so public and so many are well known it's impossible to spin any sort of upside to being labelled an exploiter and cheater. Changing names, buying new accounts won't work. The game is too small and identities too easily uncovered for that to work
So while the modules can be recovered, the damage to their personal ego and reputations cannot esp for PvP where reputation and credibility are everything.
So while people might think the punishment is light, actually for ones reputation to be trashed irrevocably and by their own hand is actually harsher than people might think
Cheaters should be thanking Frontier for their lenience. Many devs would have wiped saves or reached for the banhammer.
Could you imagine how much more upset all the cheaters would be if that were the case? Log in and you at LHS 3447 in a Sidewinder with no ranks, no progression towards anything, no permits, no engineers unlocked, and only have 3000 credits to your name.
Glad I didn't know about the exploit, would have been very tempting and would have cost me the like 10+ hours it took engineering my Corvette.
