SPOILERS - Activated Alien Site - Puzzle Solved!

Agreed with that, the first time I went looking I got lucky within 20 to 30 minutes, the second time, nearly an hour or so. Although, to be fair, perhaps if we weren't just look for free floating ones and went for the ones in convoys there would have been more chances but I don't usually fight so that route doesn't work for me especially in an asp fitted for exploration.

How close to the planet were you when you found them ?
The only time I've had even the wrong ss show up I've been pulling away from the planet so I'm wondering if I should be flying closer or further away from the ammonia worlds than I am .

HOnestly I don't have a set distance. I just go close to the planet then back further, after a minute or so I drop out of SC and then return and do the same thing again. Any USS that pops up I usually drop into and then leave again just to reset the RNG luck! I usually get 1 in about an hour or so.

Ok thanks, pretty much what I've been doing all this bad rng luck is going to reverse and one day and I'm going to score big.

Edit got one I wasn't moving when the ss came up and I was 0.20ls from the planet , hope this helps someone else.

The hardest thing about this is finding a UP I've been flying around planet 8 in in kc-u b3-1 for what feels like forever.
Or getting Palin unlocked to get corrosive resistant cargo racks, especially if one doesn't have Qwent unlocked yet. Depends on one's perspective. [alien]

You don't have to have corrosive resistant racks if you really don't want to unlock Palin just take a repair module or just take the damage it's not that damaging to your ship that it's impossible without the racks.
Palin is worth unlocking for dirty drives though.

There are two maps associated with the Thargoid sites. One is the map in the central room that is activated by installing all the Thargoid relics, and there is one hidden that is revealed by the use of a spectrograph. The spectrograph map shows the UA pointing to Merpoe, the UL signaling directly to an end point and the UP signaling to a system yet to be identified. There are two plains as well, one appears to be a source site and the other a destination for the information these items relay. Now, the map in the map room looks nothing like the Milky Way as some have pointed out. But it does look like Andromeda. Andromeda coming in 2.4 anyone??

I was trying to watch the Canonn livestream but it was a complete mess. People shouting over each other, one guy demanded he get credit for figuring this out and wanted his name put on all the streams, plus the lack or a real scientific investigation. It was truly sad to see. I'll be poking around tonight once I get off work to do some real investigations.

Also for those of you actually interested in how the "puzzle" was "solved" from what i gather you need to

Take an unknown probe and an unknown artefact to the inside, go onto the ramp and wait till it glows and the hologram stops moving, the base will rumble. Drop just the UA on the UA ramp. Take your UP into the side tunnels and find the unknown link and pick one up. Take both pieces back to the ramp and Repeat the process for both (wait on ramp till the hologram stops and it glows and the base rumbles, then drop the item on the ramp). After the structure glows you scan the unknown link.

If one person posts one thing on the canon thread or is near another canon person when something is discovered... the canon take credit for it. Sad but true. Guild by association I guess.

Is that an Unknown Link, Unknown Probe and Unknown Artefact "Hooked up" to begin with, before dropping to the floor (and ostensibly able to be picked up?)

Or did you have to bring all three there?

Thank you for explaining these short forms for me. I'm too far outside the Bubble to explore the ruins right now and have only been seeing UA, UL and UP's and only knew what the Unknown Artifacts were...

Funny thing is I started watching the livestream en route to the site but needed to detour to find a UP and was amazed that I was able to find one make it to the base and put things together before they could. But it was funny to watch. Everybody swearing and getting upset with eachother. No real plan, just every ideas being shouted out and the simple conclusion becoming overlooked.

I swear I was reading a The Secret of Monkey Island puzzle breakdown; Take the torn piece of paper you failed to pick up 20 screens ago, join it with the length of string and feed it to the hungry boar to unlock the door...

Being the age of entitlement and everything, I demand Fdev release some secondary school grade puzzles for us thickoes.
