Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 10 - The Canonn

Master unit of distance is distance between col70 and meeope5c. Up and ua are sending data to me rope 5c. But what is there on 5c? Am i missing smth?

How are you guys receiving octal codes from the UL's? I'm listening and viewing the audios recorded into a spectrograph but don't see how you guys are getting numbers out of it.

- do the Thargoids experience sound differently to us? Perhaps they can in some way see/hear spectrograms and rather than the information being in spectrograms for concealement it is actually one of their inherent ways of communicating.

I suggested in another thread, only half-joking, that maybe the "pulse" that disables our ships is actually a hailing frequency, or perhaps akin to humpback whale songs. Perhaps the Thargoids are hard-of-hearing, or their "tympanum" is more rigid and less sensitive than our own. Anyone have information about how well sound travels in an ammonia atmosphere as opposed to an oxygen/nitrogen one?

Also, it is curious that we experience this as a sound, given that right outside our relatively-thin hulls is pure vacuum...

Damn you guys have been busy..

I went to sleep when 8 was found.. :D

I could join the search soon as i have my coffee, are everyone in Canonn private group or in some other pg?

Just a fyi Cannon, the details on your site spread sheet for US015 are incorrect, on the list it gives the coords as -17 // 63, it maybe be a typo because its been reported as -27 // 63

Don't know how you do it. I know the part I'm supposed to be listening to but I just can't quite tell what ones are high, what are lows, it all just sounds the same. Nice job, want to take a stab at site 15's real quick before bed?

Ah, but is that impact damage, or rot?

For a crash, after only half a century on airless rocks, I'd expect an open crater and some things broken apart around the collapsed sections. These things are neatly embedded in the dust. :7

It's because they're not crashed but rather burrowed into the ground on purpose, I believe.

At first it was hard for me too. But it's easy to check if you made a mistake - numbers should be without a large number of digits after the decimal point (hope i'm saying it right). And you'll get used to these sounds over time, making it much easier to understand.
The worst part for me - is to actually fly there, activate the machine, take everything back, fly to space, align, record...

Someone had mentioned that perhaps the map is of a dwarf galaxy. Personally I think it looks like andromeda, BUT there IS a dwarf galaxy in the game already. It's just that they are outside the map and you can't select them. They're the PSR system. Type it in the search box and it'll take you there but the stars disappear.

Someone also posted thta a scavenger flew through the galaxy display and other systems showed up, so whta the UD display shows is only highlighted objects of interest in a galaxy. Since other arms may exist it might be specific objects of interest in the Milky Way.
