Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 10 - The Canonn

Spreadsheet is work in progress - but evidence so far indicates that the three signal locations from a site are in fact the three nearest sites!:

Ahh Big Edit: I posted too soon. There's at least one outlier. Will update when it's complete.

Ok - as complete as the data on the Canonn sheets now. 14 of 18 analyzed transmit the 3 closest destination systems. I'll continue to update later this evening.

As always this thread is hard to keep up with, so apologies if I'm doubling up on something here...

In regards to the device's reaction to the Guardian tech, I threw together a quick video of an RGB graph, which isolates / amplifies the flashes a bit better. If it does turn out that there's some actual information encoded here, hopefully it helps:

What I really wanted to do was to get a single image of the flash intensity over time, but I couldn't work out how to do that in the time I have right now.

I'm just bumping this excellent post by InstaGibbon that was buried in the latest avalanche of the Threadnaught for anyone that might want to try and see if there's a pattern to the lights of the Unknown Device when a Guardian tech.

I am of for the night. Hopefully someone else will keep a track of the finds.... Otherwise I'll have to play catch up tomorrow. I am weak, and need my sleep. :)

I'm one jump outside that and just ran into a USS where there is the wreck of the Cutter 'Gutamaya' and an unnamed AspX. In it is a non hostile NPC flying a DBX with the name 'Rescue One'. Never seen that before?

thaargoids are white walkers...same obsession withthat particular pattern

It's the Milky Way, the same representation as in the main room of the wrecks. Simplified, but the same. The stars, I would guess are favorites and/or systems with Ammonia worlds. These guys are millions of years older than us, they've mapped the galaxy. They know "stuff". Now. Do the spikes/blades on them or other extensions represent something as well or not?

Has anyone found anything at HIP 15443 yet? It was the closest one to me, but of course I don't have any Unknown-Anythings or recordings to figure out myself.

So many sites being found!

In other news, I finally have the introductory mission for Qwent, so I'm now only 25 Modular Terminals, and a bunch of engineer rolls, from Palin and CrCrs :)

Thanks to greytest's audio,

We've found three new systems from US026

one of these systems has a margin of error of 0.02. so i'm a little flakey on that. prove me wrong.

I think someone should give it some Lavian Brandy. They might be out to destroy our galactic civilisation, but there's no reason we can't share a friendly drink first...

Gas Giants with ammonia based life confirmed in all three systems.

random thought...is there suspicion that one of the updates in 2.4 will be bases in gas giant atmosphereS...? thought I saw that mentioned somewhere...don't ask where...

so maybe we have the Thargoid equal in the area waiting for 2.4 to drop to make them A THING, Feeding on the ämonia based lifeforms present

Thanks to all who have been capturing links in the spreadsheet, but I'm beginning to wonder if we need some double-checking. I plotted them out, hoping they would form polygons, and... it's frustrating close, but there are edges that cross other polygons :|.

Interactive version with other Pleiades locations: https://plot.ly/~moekul/0/thargoid-presence-in-the-pleiades/ (link re-post, but updated)

I can't think of any reason why the Thargoids would crash/plant their structures in the shape of, e.g. a giant claw grabbing the Pleiades, but it would have been a nice Easter Egg :p.

I had an idea that maybe there are more active sites the farther from the bubble we go.

I took all the current sites and got the Distance from Sol value from EDDB.

There does seem to be a general trend that active sites are farther away, but it's not conclusive. Maybe worth keeping an eye on, though.

Hmm...seems the forum strips my formatting...makes the following hard to read. Sorry about that.

In summary, all of the inactive sites are less than 405 ly from SOL. Most of the active sites are more than 400 ly from SOL (6 are not).

I suspect that probably wouldn't end well...

Maybe so....but if I fashion a spear from an old tree and cover myself in mud....I might just get away with it.

My guardian items didn't bring any positive results....I tried an orb in the probe slot, tablet in the artifact slot and link in the link slot....umm....first time I've seen the orangey light show of doom....wet my pants lol
