Open Letter to the Prime Minister: Please clarify today's revelations

Just a reminder that this is indeed what this is about. We're not all naive idealist hippies that believe the Alliance doesn't do underhanded stuff from time to time to further its goals. But collaboration with Feds is unacceptable.

Yeah, much better that humanity is fragmented into smaller and smaller groups so that the Thargoids can destroy us piecemeal.

Winters is who you need to worry about on the Fed side - she was probably behind the demise of one former vp and was probably behind Halseys little accident.
Ed Mahon's a good "family" man, no need to worry yourselves about him ;)

That's actually quite funny when you take into account that Winters as a power in PP has generally acted way more "questionably" than Hudson in terms of what means justify what actions.

Hudsonites have that weird "PvP warrior honour code".

Let's just say that Facebook is the correct venue for rants about political ideologies.

That wasn't a rant, those were jokes, a rant would be two paragraphs long and actually cite reasons, this is me poking at another player group. The reply I'm expecting is where you call me 'filthy capitalist pirate' and imply that my dental hygiene is lacking.

Preferably a response that doesn't need a five-year plan to implement BTW

I just want to reiterate that my point is that the faction story needs to evolve. We need attention, particularly attention that doesnt conflict directly with everything the faction design implies. And narrative that reflects galaxy wide player actions (and I dont mean good vs bad narrative thats not the point. The point is we're more relevant than the current content and narrative would suggest).

No I dont want factions to mold to the whims of players. I want player actions (in the game) to be relevant to the galactic story. If we take 10 systems from the federation where is the retaliation, where is the outrage, where is the response. That's the part I want to see n the narrative. Also where is the comemoration and where is the impact on the politics.

It would be a lot easier to process your RP as RP if it weren't so similar to the kind of political diarrhoea see every day on Facebook and other such cesspits of misunderstanding masquerading as FACT (usually with five exclamation marks after it and a picture of Trump or, worse still, Nigel Farage.) Given that I haven't interacted with you before (and haven't noticed you heavily RPing on the posts of yours I have seen,) it was an easy mistake to make.

My apologies.

With that said, pirates in this game don't usually have enough spare cash to warrant the term "capitalist." The NPCs don't seem to even invest in their ships... Poverty is the disease of capitalism, comrade, just like diabetes is the disease of a sugar-heavy lifestyle.

A "sugar-heavy" diet doesn't cause diabetes any more than a fat-laden diet does. Over-consumption of calories and corresponding weight gain can, however.

I'm RPing the most capitalistic thing there is, an independent trader that acquires goods at the lowest price possible, that being the cost of my fuel and ammo. This usually means I'll taunt factions of authority, which means the superpowers and any faction whose goal involves some society that would kill my trade. That and the main three superpowers have some REALLY shady lore behind them, especially the newest one. I don't want anything to do with them obviously and definitely prefer raiding their events, they have deep pockets and can afford the losses in cargo without going hungry.

Beyond that I don't discuss actual politics or real world events, a game forum would be a strange place for that. Inevitably the comparison happens since ingame factions and governments are reflections of reality, but in such cases I go with what my 'freelance trader' would support. (With the exception of debates on game mechanics, no RP there.)

So apology accepted, you oppressive Pinko. Hands off the loot or I shoot :)

Sirius Corporation and other companies are the connection. Dont you all see it? They build our ships, the very things we fly! Who would stand to gain the most from a war between all 3 powers? Why, the Ship Manufacturers and those who make ammo! The alliance and Federation are nothing more than just a pawn. I seriously doubt the Prime Minister will even COMMENT on the latest. They'll say Salome is a traitor and a terrorist, that she wishes only to incite violence for her own personal gain even now beyond the grave. Whoever is in charge, will never allow people to follow Salome. We'll all be branded criminals for even SUGGESTING that there is such a deep conspiracy between the 3 major powers.

Btw sorry Mangal for hijacking your thread with my OOC concerns.

In character, I want to see my assembly representatives voice their concerns and make sure the issue is brought up to the fullest.
Mr. Prime Minister we need some answers.

Poe's Law. :D

It's why I add (OOC) tags when talking OOC in a context where it isn't clear.

And I'm not oppressive; I liberate people from the chains of cryptofeudalism in the guise of the Empire and feral neoliberalism in the guise of the Federation.

I got some additional information from Premonition, which I have not yet finished reading, but includes already early on some interesting information:

Ms Tsu Singh is sent on "Alliance business" by.... Prime Minister Mahon, and him alone. In a private meeting. Nobody else there. Outside of normal channels, processes and operations. A cryptanalyst. For the first time, and solo, on a mission outside Alliance space...

I don't know what this means, I am early in the book - but this only increases the concern.

Is Salome a reliable source, especially a post death message.

Is it really from Salome

Premonition spoilers ahead:

It's probably helpful to see Salomé's Requiem as a synopsis of Premonition for those who don't read the book. The events she describes are covered in a lot more detail in there, and it doesn't matter if you consider her reliable source - those things are happening, they are described in an official lore novel. (This creates, of course, a lot of "out of character" knowledge for us players who have read it, making it a challenge to roleplay it.)

So in the end, it doesn't matter if the message is from her, or whether her character is reliable source. The information is solid, and her Requiem is just another way of getting this information to the players.
