DO NOT SHOOT THE THARGOIDS. YET!

It doesn't matter if you shoot them or not.

At this point they are merely introductory content.

In an ideal world the Thargoids would be the ultimate "engineer" we visit for upgrades.
Nope... :D But we will going to need the parts to upgrade our ships thargoid paralyzing resistant. That ships are for looting, and not to wake up.

Friendship with the Thargoids? Seriously!? Where is the plot in that when we talking about a wargame? [where is it]

Do the female Thargoids eat the male Thargoids heads after mating?

Wait, is there a queen laying all those eggs?

Im going to copy and paste.

After much thought:

We are being used. Mercilessly. Canonn are almost solely responsible for this:

1. The observed structures are damaged.
2. The damage is being repaired incessantly by automated drones.
3. The Thargoid ships encountered are non hostile.
4. The Drones are only temporarily hostile.

This points to the Thargoids being extremely resource wary. Anything that can cost resources is intolerable.

My hypothesis:

The Mycoid virus almost destroyed the Thargoid, and is still present within their biotech. However, this remains threat No: 1 for the Thargoid. In essence, they have simply learned to live with it. Using a workforce of drones, that costs them dearly, they repair their structures on the fly, purifying the materials. These materials are then dumped within chambers and show up as Unknown technology, biomatter or somesuch.

It is unknown whether these have any further use.

What is clear though, is that they are a damaged species. For some reason they have come to the Pleiades. I would hazard the following:

1. The Pleiades nebula is suitable for them. It could be the amount of ammonia worlds, or the nebula gas neutralises the Mycoid virus somewhat.
2. They have continuously used human communication forms to further their aims. Meaning that it is better for us to do the work for them. We spread their technology about and they learn of our capabilities.
3. It is painfully obvious - THAT THEY WOULD NOT DO THIS UNLESS THEY HAD TO. SOMETHING HAS FORCED THEM OUT FROM THEIR COMFORT ZONE!. The question is what?
4. They are unprepared. One does not EVER! build an army on the neighbours doorstep.

Thoughts please

I want all commander to pay attention to something. Its obvious the settlements are ships. Just look at the amount of eggs stuck to the ceiling. I think what we are doing is basically waking the crew up.

I want you ALL to understand something very clearly. What can scare a three kilometre wide ship?

Sure, we can shoot what is equilivant to what is a 3km senile granddad. But why is granddad legging it? What's got up his pants?

Well, Scavenging means finding something useful from junk. If you had the option of chopping off an arm because of an infection, wouldn't it be nice to keep the fingers for later? I think that's what they are basically doing. Delaying the inevitable.

I concur CMDR, though decided its OK to run over the eggs/blisters on the floor of the mega structure sites. They are blisters and the eggs are on the ceiling of the central chamber.

The chances of there being two types of eggs is pretty slim. And they make a great sound btw.

Shooting or not, won't make a lick of difference. Frontier already have this planned; yes we might be able to influence each encounter or some result down the track, but it's silly to think a bunch of people not shooting guns, in a video game, will magically change the outcome.

Hint: nope.

Shoot. Or don't. And don't blame people who shot if the Thargoids come out blazing; they were always going to. Lastly? Rendering aid to the enemy is one thing. Supporting them? Be careful with that. It's fifth-column or sympathising and that doesn't usually end well for those involved.

Must be something we haven't seen yet...

At the risk of mixing my sci-fi references, remember Independence Day? OP is likely to be one of the guys at the party on top of the skyscraper at the start. Me? I think I'm gonna be Will Smith.

Yea, tell it to that moon sized field of tiny metal fragments that was once an Imperial capital ship floating around in Facece.

Just a standard debris field with no tell tale signs of Thargoid weaponry. I'd be more inclined to say it was sabotage, politcal infighting, or the Emperor's Dawn. Given the time frame, it might even have been CoR trying to help Salomé. Seen plenty of these with Rescue teams in USSes... several even larger than the one in Facece.

Quite a bit different than what actually does appear to be a Thargoid attack against a capital ship...

Edit -

One of the rescue USSes that I recorded and uploaded over a year ago.

Have you proved your hypothesis?
