Where are you and how did you get there?

Hi everybody!

This is my first post here and with lessss than 20 hours in ED its legal to call me a n00b. I am in a stadium where I still figure out things, practice flying and do small jobs for a couple of credits. I would say I feel like a kid right now who is alone in huge endless house with billions of rooms connected by doors. Every room has toys(ships) and candy(credits to gain) and I enjoy the 5 or 6 rooms around my starting point. But the kid knows there is more, but what and how will I decide where to go? Will there be better toys and sweeter candy the more I travel through the house? What direction to go? Is it woth to travel without stopping at candy stations?

I would like to know from you, where are you, how did you get there? What decissions leaded you to that point? Is there a place with the best toys and sweetest candy?

Oddly enough I am in Eravate (my starter system) at Cleve Hub. I came back for the bounty hunting CG but it turned out to be a flop so I summoned my Orca and have been running passenger missions out of here since I am uber allied with all the factions short of the new one.

How I got here? Well kid, I've been all around this galaxy and seen a lot of strange things but........

I dunno. Maybe I hit "J" at the last system. :D

Welcome to the forum. :)

It's a vast galaxy and there are Commanders scattered all over.

I'm personally about 100 lyrs from Colonia at the moment after a round trip from Sol to Sag A the to Colonia.

Have fun out there. :)

Merope.

Puting G5 Dirties on my Fleet.

Before I was 20 hours old, I found a Player Group. Sculled a beer on comms, and pledged to be an upstanding diplomat.
The Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps has given me structure, meaning and depth to my play. Mentoring, strategic understanding and insider knowledge.
I have discovered fresh content, and made a billion from spotting a BGS edge case.
I am a tedious regular on the forum swinging between hopelessly misguided and bang on the money.

When I have finished in Merope I have to do a thing so that I can do a thing so that I can do a thing that I can't tell you about.

Welcome to ED and the forums!

Beware of the salt. :p

Currently, I'm docked at one of the CG stations close to where I began, but I've been all around the bubble, to Sagittarius A*, around Maia.
Done a full loop it seems. I go where the money is. :D

Currently flying an Anaconda. :)

Welcome to the beginning of the end of yer social life ^

Currently in the black about 8klys from jacques (colonia) outward bound. Will stop there fer a week or 2 before taking a planned 3 month trip to the core and sag A because the trials and tribulations of humanity and the cesspit they call the bubble are things I turned my back on a long time ago. Whether they thrive or are exterminated, I care little what happens to them.

I actually role play a little...I point blank refuse to arm any ship I own apart from the slf which I cant disarm. Im not a pacifist as I very much support gratuitous violence, just not with my boat ^

I'm back in the starter system Eravate, but instead of a harmless sidey I've got an elite corvette.

Itinerant bounty and pirate hunting for the first year with some sightseeing/exploration expeditions, then I found a player group and settled down in a small cluster of interesting systems with plenty of different mission options and things to do.

I just bought a Diamondback explorer, fitted it with A grade stuff, engineered the FSD, and power plant, then engineered thrusters, now near Maia looking for an unknown probe.

Welcome to Elite.

I am currently some 22,000 ly from Earth on the opposite side of the galactic core from Colonia, heading back to the bubble (the populated systems surrounding Earth) after a 150,000 ly/6 month tour of the galaxy - various nebulae, Colonia, Sag A* (the big black hole at the centre of the galaxy), Beagle Point (for a long time, the furthest reachable system from Earth), and a few systems beyond (now reachable with engineering and FSD boosts).

I've been playing this time (I played for a while 3 years ago during Beta) for 9 or 10 months, and in that time, I have done lots of trading, a little mining, lots of missions (mainly to get my Imperial rank up to Duke), a little engineering (long range FSD for exploring), and most recently exploring.

I am looking forward to getting back to civilisation (exploring is starting to drag quite badly now) and taking part in some of the Thargoid activities, pretty much all of which have taken place while I was exploring.

Edit: Of course, I meant to say Duke not Baron  Corrected it.

Welcome etc. Where am I? Out in the Pleiades nebula. I flew here to see the Thargoids - definitely worth a look.

FYI the best ship is a Cobra III. Other CMDRs might say something different but they're wrong - it's best just nod and smile than try and argue with them though. ;)

Traded, fought, explored... entered the storyline.

Which me?

My first CMDR is around 40,000 ly to the left. How he got there? Decided to visit the Zurara, then, after getting there, wanted to see the actual rim. After that, it wasn't that much more to think about a circumnavigation. For the last three weeks or so, he's been sitting on a moon out there, admiring the view and relaxing, but I got a feeling he'll get restless sonn and will want to press on.

The second one is at Leesti. Had some brawling yesterday in the Fighter Club (Lave was already back to normal), now when he's slept off his hangover, he'll have to get a wake scanner and find a busy port - before attempting to extend the current Buckyball leaderbord downwards, he'll need a FSD upgrade, and Felicity requires scan data for that. How he got there? Did the Asellus CG, then wanted to go on with the Eravate CG, but received an emergency call with the news that Lave was under lockdown and needed some action.

In LHS 3447 for the Bounty Hunting CG. When I started playing Elite, I was based out of Bluford Orbital there for quite a while. I hadn't been back there in quite some time as I'm now based out of Empire space, so it was pretty satisfying to roll back in to my "hometown" base in my Anaconda and summon my Fer-de-Lance.

OP, wait til you're at 200 hours, you won't know yourself!
