I kinda think type 7 as sweet spot maybe? Thinking distance and cargo.
I kinda think type 7 as sweet spot maybe? Thinking distance and cargo.
Aspx holds similar amount of cargo as a type 6 so would that make type 6 redundant?
yes. and no (t6 is a faster in straight line speed, and as npc spawns depend on shiptype of yours to some extend, a t6 can be well worth it to fly as a pure trader).
I don't understand, aspx surely jumps further?
T7 is in the sweet spot for trade missions - the multi-million ~120t runs (a lot like the python). Flies like a brick though.
T6 is great for CGs, and other dodgy trade related activities - with engineered thrusters it moves pretty well, and if it all goes wrong the re-buy is cheap.
T9 as others have said is probably the best for pure trading though - if you can't afford an annie, or you like flying barns.
With around 100T cargo and G5 modded FSD an Asp will jump about 6 LY further than a similarly modded T6 however the Asp costs nearly six times as much and has a lower boost speed, as goeman says the "big haul" and "I've come a long way.." posse NPC's are based on your rating and ship type so a lightly armed trader (T6) is unlikely to get interdicted by a high rank FDL.
For mission based trading I use a Python or an FDS for bulk trading at CG's an Anaconda as it's range and capacity become important as the nearby systems commodity stock levels become empty, at a smaller scale the Asp and T6 work well being able to land at outposts as is a cargo fitted Dolphin if you fancy something different.
Dropship carries more cargo then the T7?
Don't have it in front of me but my T7 carries the same as my Python. About 270 tons...give or take a couple.
And, as a pure trader, medium pad availability is quite optional IMHO.
I have a fully kitted aspx just wondering what's best for say the community goal? Only have 27 million.
