Actually I enjoyed old-school MUDs quite a bit.
But that's beside the point. You get good graphics by buying the game. Want to customize colors or have a silly bobblehead? You can buy custom eye-candy if you want. I'm perfectly fine with that, please let go of the ridiculous argument that the game is somehow incomplete if you don't shell out money for purple lasers instead of the default.
Bit of a strawman that. Aside from having already paid for everything from KS, 'Everything in the game will be aquired by playing it with in game credits' I find the level of nickle and diming for the smallest of customizations to be mean, stingy and money grabbing.
Customising the appearance of our avatars so they look better is a big part of many online games. Usually this sort of thing forms part of the gameplay, its to EDs detriment any customisation is hidden behind a paywall. The games that charge for every little thing are free to play. Last time I checked ED is not. Considering the dodgy networking they've used to cut costs I happen to think they are taking the mic.
