Players are trying to stop YOU unlocking Prof Palin.

Sirius Corporation have been under attack by a group of players for several weeks now. This is making it more difficult for players who haven't unlocked the engineer Prof Palin - He who is the source of the greatest engine enhancements and Thargoid related goodies.

In the last few days Sirius Corp have lost the Avik system and their influence in Sirius itself has been halved, if these lunatics are left unopposed...

I hope the heroes who flipped Wolfberg can come out of retirement and provide some effective opposition to their old enemy.

Yeah, it took me from Monday of last week until this afternoon to get Marco (POLO!) unlocked. That stoopid manifesto about "Oh, I don't like what FDev did with Engineers and locking systems so I am going to block anyone else from getting a permit" is complete rubbish. In the rant, somewhere on this site and quite frankly I don't have the time or inclination to link that, the CMDR plainly states that if we don't like it, we can fight him and his cabal. Well, isn't that spiffy. Oh, and I am SURE he doesn't have Marco or Palin unlocked and got all the RNGeering done for his PvP ship, Right? Uh huh. As was so eloquently stated in The Last Boyscout, and yes, it is cleaned up, "Screw you. Screw that. Screw this piece of poo!"

Now, I have stated that I think it is great that we can alter the universe in this game, however the limits we can alter this is out of whack. If I pick up a load of slaves and travel 2 jumps and sell them for a 1200 credit per slave profit, at some point there should be a glut in the market and the prices should reflect that but no. However, play with the background sim and voila, you too can stick it to your fellow CMDRs. On a side note, if they ever fix the market, it would be fun to buy slaves or whatever commodity then space them just to drive the prices up.

So yeah. It sucks. And I outfitted a ship for PvP to do some "attitude correcting", but there were no instances of live players in the 3 systems I flew back and forth to.

The ones who flipped Wolfberg are supposedly part of the effort to lockdown Sirius, and the player faction that is headquartered in Wolfberg has actually been killing quite a few of the instigators against Sirius, in a 'bigger fish' moment.

You might have good success in going hunting, a lot of the organizers are not actually PvP equipped or using advanced manuevers.

They can be opposed in any mode of course, what's really needed is someone who truly understands the BGS to lead the opposition effort. There was a very effective team who flipped SDC's home system away from them, but alas I have lost contact with them.

We need to form an effective resistance. I tried a few weeks ago to recruit some commanders in assisting me run Meta-Alloys to Sirius stations under threat of UA bombing (by a certain CMDR Histarium and his followers) but I'm unsure how many came aboard. After a few runs I myself headed home instead. These new players, and those who have yet to unlock Qwent and Palin (I just unlocked them last month and I've been playing since 3301) deserve the opportunity to get these engineers and the QOL they provide to the game. CRCRs might not be required, but they're super helpful in any Thargoid-related experience.

I see a lot of people not understanding what is going on. Players are undermining Sirius corp because they are involved in the conspiracies about the thargoids, noa's arch program thing. These players are leaving a system in the hand of Sirius so that other players still have access to engineers. In essence : nothing is going to change if you want to use engineers. Chill down!

Oh well i support Sirius. Cheap ships and parts help me. ;)

Im not directly involved in Operation Sirius Business, but I know the guys that are. These are very reasonable guys who are engaging with the story that is unfoldinging, open to working with others, and leaving path wats open to for people to unlock Palin. Just some comments:

- This is a multifaceted games, and people inevitably work againt you at some point. Not all PVP is combat, and even in solo, you cant avoid this.

- Far too few people are engaging with the story and lore. Well, people want money for ships etc, of course. Play your own game, but consider that others might have entirely valid reasons for plsying their way.

- Some things *seem* at odds with the lore. Needing to go via Qwent/Sirius to get to Palin seems strange to me.

- Player organised initiatives such as Wreaken, that took people months of work, dont seem to get an recognition from Fdev.

- Meanwhile, most CGs will complete in a few days, due to the cash payouts. This together with the last point just seem to reinforce the second point.

Anyway, the various opposition groups are slowly growing, and we now have a council of sorts to coordinate our activities. If you want to join us, we aren't to hard to find (there is a relevant logo below, for example).

Fight for what you believe in, not for money or trinkets.

The group I linked in the OP explicitly say they will leave no system alone. The other merry band have promised to leave Procyon untouched, but that system has proved useless in the quest to obtain the invite to Marco Qwent.

That group contains some of the players responsible for the worst mischief making, nothing good ever comes from them. Left unopposed there is a real chance they will succeed.

Done it over the weekend, almost. Procyon, Davy Hub has Sirius Corp as the controlling faction, and the player group involved has I believe pledged to leave it alone to avoid blocking the engineers.

While you're there, enjoy the brilliant local accent. Handing in exploration data works well and the system is close enough to Sirius to allow the permit to be granted on the board once you're allied.

For Modular Terminals, just do some simple cheap easy courier missions nearby, hopping around a bit. If you can't find any, reload the board with a mode switch and you'll have it done in no time.

Palin's 5 kylies is the part that's liable to take a bit more time.
