Woah, that's some pretty religious type comments going on there.
What keeps me motivated...easy answer...I have a life...this is only a game...patience...and you will be rewarded when it happens...I guarantee that 99% of backers would rather wait for a clean, bug free game that a traditional AAA game with allot of the great features removed
Be good, be patient, and you will be rewarded in the afterlife! And do they really think that just because its taking longer it will be bug free? LOL, this is software development.... maybe they don't understand it?

Features removed eh... hmm... like just 5 systems instead of 100 (when the game is largely feature complete, not release, can't make the mistake of thinking that largely feature complete means close to release, that would be an error in translation!).
...and the promise and potential this game has once it gets more to a Beta state, let alone full release. Patience is a virtue and will be rewarded.
Again with the afterlife type comments.... well, i suppose at the rate development is going, this might actually be quite relevant. Assuming there is a release version of SC awaiting true believers in the afterlife.
Ouch, and comments along the lines of how they are getting their money's worth just experiencing the game development. Not the first time i've seen this.
Following SC development is the most interesting reality TV experience I've been able to find with the added benefit on not having to feel guilty about it. The entertainment value of the weekly shows is only surpassed by the lols to be had reading Spectrum posts, so there's a very good interactive part to the whole circus as well
Exactly. It may not work for everyone. But this project from a technical point of view is spectacular. To get a front row seat to the magic is a rare privilege. But I would like to add that the anticipation and fantasies about the game are a big part too. The game will never be as good as our imagination. And this lengthy process really gives opportunity to dream. Even when dreams are shattered, there is ample opportunity to build new.
The bold part is classic... like, erm... even non-backers can get to watch the "open" development as well, all without spending a penny. Erm... then, thanks backers for letting me "experience" the "magic"
At least that last one understand the reality will not be as good as what people imagine.
