Is instancing selective based on whether a player is 'Wanted' or 'Clean'?

Lately some of us pirating the CGs have noticed that instancing with trader-players in supercruise seems to become extremely difficult once you get a Wanted status - instead the game seems to create a primary wanted players instance where all the pirates and wanted PvP players are consigned where no clean trade ships ever arrive.

Going to the local station reveals an abundance of traders that have apparently been in the system the whole time.

Has anyone else noticed this?

If you find the traders at the station then you are in the same instance, otherwise you would not see them at all. So, no.

Instancing is different between supercruise and normal space... Stations seem to instance more players together than SC typically does.

I could explain to you the difference between using or abusing a feature but your mind was already made up a long time ago. Enjoy your toothless universe for now.

I only found out they'd fixed block a couple of weeks ago, that's not very long at all. If you have concerns about me abusing/exploiting you could always report me for it, please keep me updated so I can let you know nothing whatsoever has happened at every stage.

The block feature is not fool proof. It seems to work for interdictions though.

If I've read and understood the OP correctly this has nothing to do with the block feature but some sort of legal-status-based instancing issue. Let's not go down the "the block feature is evil / the block feature is good" road until we know it's the block feature.

so there goes the pirating dynamic of the game

Indeed... On appearance it seems that FDev might have created some kind of stealthy instancing bias so clean players don't get instanced with wanted players as often. This often results in an instance where all the local wanted players are all just sitting there looking at each other, as was the case in Harma the other night... everyone got bored and logged off.

There is no 100% proof of this yet of course, it's all based on our observations of the previous few trade CGs.

I can confirm from my blocking research that you will still see people you've blocked in super-cruise regularly, they are just not there after interdiction. You are also far far less likely to see anyone blocked in a station.

This issue doesn't sound like blocking at all.

Wait, what? Are you saying that blocked players can still interdict you, but won't fall into the same instance as you once interdiction is complete? Because that's seriously messed up if so.

(I'm assuming I've misunderstood your meaning here)

Why would I report you? I have no need to be instanced with you because you haven't given me a good reason to kill you. Like I said you made your mind up about this a long time ago before the block feature was "fixed". Just another one of those players.

Your statement is correct. You get interdicted by a blocked player and they don't end up in your instance. Pure cheese.

How did I know what FDEV would do so far in advance, and why am I not aware that I knew this all along ?.

It does seem to be happening that way occasionally. I think the blocking rules might be a bit more relaxed in super-cruise as it doesn't really matter.
