News gamescom 2017 - Frontier Community Meet

Just two days now, getting really excited! Looking forward to meet you all.

Likewise. :)

I dont know if we have any kind of nametags, etc there, but i will most likely wear my black Core Dynamics t-shirt, its one of a kind so you should be able to identify me easily. ;)
Im with two bald headed gentlemen, CMDRs Quar Damek and Edge Of Sanity. :)

I'll wear a blue shirt with the Rock-Rats and CoR-Logo on it. Baroness Galaxy, Karaya, Two Fingers, Zaph Nova and Jermus Karlsen will be there too.

Anyone who IS going.... Swiftpoint (who produce the ZMouse and sponsored the community Elitemeet in Bristol this year) are at Gamescom and have extended an invitation to pop over to their booth to Ed and the wider Elite community as they are big fans of E:D. If someone could drop by their stand and say HI from David at the Hutton Truckers for us and get a selfie that would be fantastic!

Contact there is Dan Barker

We thought about it, and after i checked few train prices, it was clear that rental car would be much cheaper. :)
Its only 90 euros for 3 days as trains cost as much as 30 euros per person roundtrip, per day.

You traded a few euros for your sanity. I lived in Cologne most of my life before moving to Canada and I still visit frequently. You will spend an insane amount of time in traffic jams and the cost of fuel and parking will eat up any perceived savings. Also, you do not want a DB rail ticket, but a regional transit ticket (VRR and VRS transit regions). Düsseldorf to Cologne is €11.40 per cash/ single trip ticket or € 36.40 for a day pass valid for up to 5 people traveling together. These tickets include use of DB (S Bahn, regional trains, but no ICE/IC/IR), Stadtbahn (subway, streetcars etc) and busses. So you can basically go door to door on the same ticket and also explore Düsseldorf and Cologne after the show.

Well, its our first time at Gamescom and first time in Dusseldorf/Cologne, we cant possibly know everything.
This time we try the car and maybe next year we try the train. ;)

Good luck.... :p

If you want a great, craft-brewed, genuine glass of Kölsch (the beer only brewed in Cologne) and some authentic food, visit Brauerei Päffgen (Friesenstr. 64-66). Attention, crowded!

Good morning,

I just wanted to say thanks for a great evening. I've met a bunch of nice people at a realy nice place (good choice btw.!).
Food and drinks were delicious. I also had luck at the raffle. Now I'am a proud owner of a signed Planet Coaster copy!

Suprisingly it was a little bit hard to get out of the bed this morning ... :)

Thanks again to the whole Team which made this event possible!

Back home now.

Met up on wednesday evening wth 3 CMDR's from Finland (Henkka77 and friends)

Met Dan Parker on his stall at Gamescom, took a selfie as requested by Vingtetun and also it was arranged for him to come to the Elitemeet and meet Ed and Bo.

No info was released at Elitemeet, they are working hard on the schedule for Expo in october, which sounds as if it's going to be very impressive and interesting for players of all of Frontiers games :)

Gamescom itself was loud and crowded as usual!

Hi to everyone I met at the party, which was good fun!

Really nice event, thanks, Frontier (particularly Ed & Bo)! Now if I only had had more luck at the raffle... (Prizes included naming a solar system and a planet!) ;-)

Just back home from Cologne too.
I'd really like to thank Frontier for the awesome organization and choice of the venue. It almost felt like having the event in one of the orbis-starports taking into account the gorgeous views and how 'round' everything was :D
The food was outstanding and Ed and Bo were restlessly taking care of everybody. As it was said, sadly there were not trailers, no sneak-peeks or other treats they could give us but I am the happy owner of a signed copy of "Planet Coaster" now

I'd like to share some pictures of the event.

28th Floor - just wow!
