Yes, they'd rebranded trackIR FOIP (face over IP) and are selling a sepcial webcam to use it. I am not joking.

I haven't watched any of this today (at work) but I guess I'll pass. I really am not interested in another promotion video for something that isn't available to play yet. Yup. "My face is tired" of all these promo videos. (Didn't we even see a concept video of a Gladiator doing a hyperspace jump? Like *years ago*?? :/
When 3.0 is released I will gladly download it and try it out. Until then.....

Although I think they did say it will work with an ordinary webcam as well. This new one though is designed to work in low light so may be more accurate. So get one of those little LED lights on a goose neck and point it at your face and your Logitech kit will work just fine I expect.
I think it's FACE over internet protocol.
CIG can transmit your expressions over the interweb (on your avatar) when you talk to someone.
A feature that everyone has been clamoring for for ages...

Haha, ok, you can stop it. Its funny, but you're not being realistic enough. Even the most ardent fans wouldn't say "Things we have never seen before in gaming"... i think anyway. I mean, we've all seen crysis maps before. And just because someone has moved menus to be attached to the player's wrist its not exactly earth shattering. Do the same in Ark by looking at my implant, its just a bigger screen i get.

The gap between the pre-alpha "game" build and the smoke & mirrors trade show demonstration continues to widen. It was very pretty, but I don't think any of us have a PC that can run that "demo" and it has very little to do with the real state of the game.
Last years gamescom demo didn't show the product, it showed what they wanted people to think the product is. The "product" is the thing they were allowing streamers to play on the show floor and even that bit isn't ready.
What happened to the "product" they showcased last year that had fauna and multiple "hand crafted" planets with crabs and sand-worms?

Great work by CIG doing something that has never been done before in gaming. Time to buy a couple 600i's
