Here we go again thread or "you are replaying THAT...are you mad!"

Fresh start on Fallout 4 and I'm up to level 82'ish.

Suspecting Skyrim will be my next replay now that I have the hi-def pack installed.

Booted up Empire: Total War for first time in long time. Did a historical battle. Played Napoleon and won at Waterloo. :)

I recently picked up Star Wars: Dark Forces on GoG and am a few levels in. The graphics are fine, the chunkiness is nostalgic, but I was surprised how frustrating the controls are. It's still more fun than Call of Duty though.

I've never played any of the "Witcher" series. I've seen all the "makeout" cutscenes on youtube. But something about playing a lecherous albino warlock (and a rip-off of Elric of Melnibone) put me off. Is it worth playing, or just scripted nonsense overall?

What, are you serious? The Witcher series (3>>1>2>most other games in the genre) is one of the best in gaming. I am sure Witcher 3 will be in the hall of fame forever, such a masterpiece! Even the DLC/expansions are brilliant. If you like ARPG and good storytelling & character writing/dialogue, you will love The Witcher.

And don't call Geralt a lecherous albino warlock! It's not his fault women like him!

Witcher 3 is PCGamer number 1 game.

Have a look through the thread here on the forums on it. I've gushed enough on the game without filling this thread with it all :)

It's a great game if you like action rpgs. It's accused of being a bit light on the rpg side and I'd agree loosely with that, but by god it tells a great story throughout in a brilliantly realised open world.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

It's not wroth it.

(ducks)

Seriously... story is awesome. Gameplay (ie-combat) is pants.

Been replying Deux Ex Mankind Divided and Mass Effect: Andromeda right now.

The Dues Ex series are the best cyberpunk PC games ever, full stop. I guess you could go back to Syndicate for something that comes close to capturing the same je ne sais quoi.

ME: A is a rough (ok, quite rough) entry in the series but the combat is satisfying and the story is at least passable.

I had been re-re-re-re-re playing Skyrim again as a Dagi-raht (modded) but I haven't fired that up all that recently.

That is what I thought as well originally..but you don't establish connection with him so much as with the others ;) I have to say this is the most grow up game series I've seen. Start with W3 goty ~ 200h pure pleasure and joy every second of those. Compared to it other big RPGs are like kids goodnight fairytales..

So I'm replaying the excellent X COM 2 with the now newly released War of the Chosen expansion. I'm not a massive fan of this sort of game so it should say a lot that I consider it excellent. Genuinely tense moments playing this wondering whether the choices I made will end up with me winning a mission or getting my team wiped out.

Anyone else replaying this now with the new expansion?

Still haven't tried the expansion, but I loved XCOM and XCOM 2. I'll wait for my incoming 2 week vacation to give it a proper spin. XCom isn't a game to be played just for an hour or 2. :)

I was a huge fan of XCOM Enemy Unkown/Within, played that through a number of times. But the sequel failed to click - the storyline, the mechanics, and then the very first mission the very first melee strike of 86% was a miss. So I uninstalled it immediately as I was eligible for a refund (note: didn't go the XCOM forums to whine about the RNG and the 2K has just lost $XXX as I'm uninstalling).
I get the feeling that 2K is challenged to program a proper AI, as I see that from Civ VI reviews too.

Anyway, the game I was replaying a lot is all installments of the GTA series. Rockstar are genius, what a pity V never got a SP DLC.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I think this is my 5th or 6th play through, but my god I love this game so much.
Thinking of getting it on PS4 too to support the small independent studio to the fullest.

I must be weird in that I don't most/any of these games you folks play. :)

I do still play FC and Crysis from time to time. Waiting for FC5 to hit early next year.

Not played that at all. Might look into it though on this recommend.

To be honest, my gaming time is so limited that I only play Elite, although I have a fair backlog. Haven't finished Day of the Tentacle yet, My Summer Car is also idling along with some other games I haven't even tried. :)

It's completely different from anything else mentioned in this thread. And it completely lacks weapons and solid gameplay but damn the atmosphere is absolutely mesmerising.
