The Difference Between PvP and "Griefing"

I explicitly said Engineered PVP. Nice try though.
No, you didn't.
I can prove it. Go to any thread that says, I got killed in open play.

The first comment is a link that says here join mobius.

plain and simple.

PVP is endgame, and even David Braben himself said there is an endgame and it could be better and they recognize that. He didnt directly say it was PVP. But he did say there was an endgame.

So "right now". The highest level of play is PVP and it shows. Its not an opinion. Its a fact.

This is what you wrote. You never mentioned Engineers at all. Stop lying and revising history.

Sag A like any busy station CG or engineer is a griefing hotspot, without victims there's no point so griefers gravitate to busy places.

I used that habit to easily bag all the best know station griefers/cheats for my block list without even leaving the pad.

There is no proof that it has ever happened more than once if ever. Only rumors and maybe a singular example are enough for them to say that it happens all the time. This person has no proof, so no need to try and speak to them as if they have any credibility.

Also clouds are made out of sugar and you get Chocolate milk from Brown Cows. I once saw Pablo Picaso in an ally eating a sandwich that he got out of the dumpster. Its just as believable.

Most of your "griefers" cant be bother to go any further out than LHS 3447 and kill the newbies.

Only to those who are too limited to see Elite as being something other than Unreal Tournament In Space.

To the other 99% PvP is at worst an inconvenience, and at best an irrelevance.

This^

ED is a sandbox game (to a point), and sandboxes are what you make of them.

Pity I can't rep you more right now.

And of course you know.

Perhaps this thread had run over it lifespan? Done its purpose? I see no dialogue here any more.

I see no reason going back and forth, sadly.

FDev have said that they're aware that most players don't engage in PvP. Therefore, for them, it's not any sort of 'end game'. It is therefore either an inconvenience or an irrelevance, depending on whether they play in Open or not.

Well don't we know this argument already? Maybe there is not much PvP engagement becouse the game features for PvP are not well developed?

Look at Powerplay, look at piracy, look at instancing, look at CQC (and look at constant engineers pvp rebalancings and not really adressing combat logging) !!!!

This remembers me on the mulitcrew statement ... "we will develop it more if players play it ... " unfortunatly it's first iteration was implemented so poorly that not many players are engageing with it in the first place...

Snake bites it's own tail here.

Stop lying and revising history.

If you look at his post history over the last few days, all of them are opinion dressed (poorly) up as fact. And it also isn't clear what argument he's actually trying to have, as anytime someone makes a point that invalidates a post, he changes tack entirely and says something completely different. I pointed this out a few posts ago. And I'm now not going to bother reading any more of the discussion, as it went beyond pointless a while ago. :)

So you say GreyAreaUK. If true, Frontier made a fundamental mistake, creating the ALL Group. A flaw. Somehow, I doubt they can't be so mistaken.

And be this as it may, we are down here to childish accusations back and forth.

Or its just that a lot of people who play this game don't care for PvP?

Trying to fix powerplay, CQC, and multi-pew probably won't do much for most people. At least won't do much for me.

Check out the wall of information that Jockey has. PvP was never intended to be a focal point of the game. And it isn't one as things are now. This isn't CoD, or overwatch, or DOTA, or unreal tournament. If you want a PvP kill fest, then you bought the wrong game. Kinda like wanting to play overwatch but buying fallout instead.

Yea yeah. Semantics. It never ends.

We all know Ive been talking about Engineered PVP this whole time. And that even mobius said Engineers ruined open play and the balances of PVP activities.

It just seems you guys argue for the sake of arguing. Shameful really.

Im literally fighting for a level playing field that benefits everyone. And you guys still complain.

Its childish.

Also a fuel rat wrote this. Not a PVPer.

So please. DO NOT tell me this game is fine and it doesn't need balancing.

No, one of the Dev's actually said it here on the forums.

Frontier could have saved lots of development time if they would just have not bothered to create all the pew pew engineer stuff and all the pvp-balancing issues that went with that...

We'd have a more balanced pvp-comunity and a lot more of development ressources for non-pvp parts of the game...

You know Crank Larson is referring to you right? He was replying to me, not to you.

I have never said it is fine, just that your "ideas" don't result in balance from where I'm sitting. Don't put words in my mouth.

Four or five different Sag A things that I know of and I go months without reading the main forum and usually avoid Hotel California, so the are probably more. Hotspot is OTT for Sag A however I was lumping it in with CG's and engineers which are definitely hotspots, but it's somewhere players will turn up therefore it's attractive to griefers.

Just switch to Mobius to visit anywhere like that, don't waste any time or effort on it at all.
