Star Citizen Thread v6

Exploration is what makes Star Trek popular, a different planet with different aliens/problems every week (I'm probably talking more about original star trek here). No Mans Sky kind of attempts this but is a bit light on the story telling, Mass effect series is the closest I suppose
Yup.

Star Trek, all of the different series were more about discovery. Many episodes didn't have a single shot in them. Some of them were political, some explored the deeper things of human existence and mind, some explored society, some explored philosophical ideas (just think of Q and why should humans exist), and more. The gold era of sci-fi was about exploring ideas, especially in books. I can't even remember a single book or show where they had space pirates? And there are no space pirates in Mass Effect, and no one feels something is missing. And I agree, Mass Effect (1-3) really comes much closer to what I want in a space game. My dream is to have and play a Mass Effect game that's open world, whole galaxy, and where I can fly my space ship like in ED. Or... ED with Mass Effect missions, dialogues, and... sure FPS and some pew-pew when necessary, but not more than makes sense in the story line. SC could have gone that way, that was I was hoping for, but now it's just a big poo-sim.

CQC was and is sabotaged by the entirely messed up rewards. If it was a viable way to make money, people would be playing it quite happily. Even more so if you could advance your navy rank with it, which would IMO make a lot of sense.
And I think it would be more interesting if it was integrated in the main game somehow, like a mission you pick up and go and do. An area in space that has edge-beacons or whatever. Right now, having it as a separate module, it feels like I'm forced to start another game to do it. It just as well could be. Which mentally somehow creates a separation. It's not ED when you switch to CQC. It's just CQC the game on its own, and therefore not really part of ED. It just looks and feels like it mechanically, but mentally/psychologically/emotionally or whatever, it somehow is not.

Another Tall-tale 'Venture.

I really can't be angry with them over the 'verse thing. It's just CIG being their usual artistically and creatively bankrupt selves — innovation, inventiveness, and imagination isn't really something you could expect from them, so stealing a from the best is probably as much as one could ever hope for.

Yo, every cool scene needs a cool slang

It's the best god damn poetry simulator in the whole verse.
You come up against my limericks you'll be leaving in a hearse!

Sorry, I think I've completely misunderstood what Star Citizen was about, not rock and roll poets?

There once was a man name of Roberts,
Whose imagination bounced round like a hobbit's.
One day sayeth he,
I'll re-invent the PC.
And here we sit, getting bored, patently.

LOL. IKR?
I blame myself for stealing the term 'See you in the <B>void</B>' to sign off my streams. :p :D

Well it is just another thing that CIG took from another franchise, in this case Firefly. CIG put a lot of effort taking from others in order to bolster their own worth.

He was refused a partial refund, not a full one.

Sure, but that's not what's interesting here. Two week period is as argument is. It is certainly new argument from CIG side. It really depends on country or state, it might be even legal.

It is just interesting they have started to use certain flow of handling these refunds to reject them.

They've used that argument before, and it was pretty much immediately slapped down for being contrary to almost all consumer laws out there (they usually count 14 days from delivery, not from purchase, specifically to deal with the fact that delivery may be slow in certain cases). That's why they stopped using it. So it's interesting that they've brought it back in spite of that.

I'm not sure they can refuse anything or demand anything within two weeks of purchase, since the product isn't even delivered yet.

Bad example though. Nobody asked for CQC; the ED player base was largely sceptical about it. I still think it was part of a deal with MS and Xbox that brought it about.

Well actually I did ask for it. When I posted my request in the forums is was for Frontier to clag together some small arena fighter which would make it easy for all the different Elite get-togethers to set up a LAN room an have people experience the wonders of PVP in a quick and dirty way.

People already use it if they die without rebuy, but it would be handy if it scaled up a bit more so this was more practical.
