Without wishing to diminish your epic post at all, this part jumped out to me. If you want to increase the revolutionary fidelity of your posts then you might consider, for example, outsourcing parts to a third party. Be sure to specify which language you want it written in though, to avoid any embarrassing problems later when you try and integrate their work with your own.

Also, a tried and tested method is to downplay the current post while making outrageous claims about the next one or, ideally, the one after that. Any issues people might have with your post will be forgotten when they experience the magnificence that you're working up to.

Finally, don't forget to take a few unexpected diversions to keep the audience on their toes (mods permitting). Introduce new features that no one has seen before, which add nothing to the core concept but which can be used to pad out the feature list. There was that one fellow who liked to capitalise almost every other word, for example. Rule of cool, or something.

....teach me oh great one :D

@Frosty dont be a lazy git, take breaks inbetween, what you think I wrote that in ONE go? ^^

Oh come on, man. We all envision you as a physical version of that typing-your-hands-(and-also-face)-off animated gif. Don't rob us of that belief, you meanie. :(

What are they even trying to gain by adding this self-evidently nonsensical faff to the game?!

As Memnoch says: they have no game and they have no idea how to get the game into a playable state (let alone a release candidate.)
They'll just keep coming up with these distractions for as long as they're able get away with it (i.e. until the money runs out.) I presume that there'll be another flashy - and expensive - JPG ship for sale at CitizenCon.

It staggering to watch that ATV where nearly half of it is devoted to this ridiculous traffic control system that they're building when they haven't got a game to put it in...

Who is going to supply all these AI with coffee? Is this possibly the embryo of engrossing and engaging Barista gameplay?

Don't give them any more stupid ideas.
Or do, since that will make it stupidererer and funnier as it all comes crashing down.

Dammit, now I'm all conflicted.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
There was a time when these words from you would be impossible my dear :D

Heh! Well, I remained steadfast in my support for years, but lately I've felt progressively more pessimistic about the project.

I suppose everyone has their own 'breaking point'. Gamescom 2017 was it for me.

I'll happily put down cash when it's released and we can play an actual fun & working game. Until then... 'peace, out!' and all....

All the players who pledged less then 2000$ of course ^^

Oh the possibilities!

Imagine - $45 grand in college debt. Degree in Tasseography. Unable to get a well paying job. Works as a barista to make ends meet. Buys SPAEC GAEM to escape the troubles of reality and find fulfillment and excitement in a cut-throat galaxy.

Unable to buy big star ship. Unable to take on well paying jobs. Works as a barista to make ends meet.

Will there be unemployed AI on welfare? Will there be a tax system to cover the costs of the welfare that's taken out from each players virtual purse each month? I wonder...

Good point! What are all the ATC Ai going to do when the Vandulls blockade a system and make it impossible for anything to dock/launch? What if the ATC AI has a disagreement with GENERIC AI? What if GENERIC AI is simply preferred by players as they don't cause delays while they sip lattes and insist on telling you their story about that one time at band camp. How is coffee going to be ferried in to prevent AI from getting stuck? How are poops going to be ferried out? There is only one way to find out!

Buy an Idris!

Only after having your AI character goes through college with 45,000 game credits in debt...

Working as a barista, he should have been able to predict that was going to happen before buying the game ;)

Pretty much for me too. It was so disappointing. What I was looking to see was members of the public playing what Chris had up and running in the presentation at the end of the week. At least some kind of gameplay loop would have been nice.

At least the pricing here is more reasonable than some of their offerings. I can only imagine what those that bought a Javelin must be thinking right now. Not only did they shell out a boat load of cash but it must be increasingly obvious to even those that are that far in that they will never be able to have enough people in a single session to even keep all the toilets clean on that massive ship, let alone fly it, man turrets etc.

Meanwhile, developers "on budget" from Infinity: Battlescape did a successful test of 400 players online in the same instance, while CIG after 5 years and $159M still struggles to maintain how many players in one instance? 24 ?

...they are talking about modelling the actual ATC controller as an individual AI character in the game...

Blimey. God help anyone landing when the AI has just been jilted by its AI partner, and had a bad journey in to work, as they picked the wrong week to give up........ ...well fill in the Lloyd Bridges 'blanks'...

More seriously (well as best one can with this pathetic joke of a project) this whole shambolic debacle is an absurd farce upon a Grecian tragedy upon a disorganised disaster upon a puerile dream based on a travesty of complete buffoonery.
