Notice to Devs. Do or die. Exploration.

Hm...think I may need to rethink my opinion of the Oxford. I suppose the spoken acronym is technically a verb, but I would probably have gone with 'acronym, slang' myself. What a shocker, as you say. Makes me want to bang my head on something to make myself so stupid I won't care that the human race is going down the toilet any more. :( Meh, been one of those days.

Lolling is a verb. It means to sag or wilt and to lose stiffness. "The unconscious man's head lolled onto the woman's shoulder."

So why are you going to rethink your opinion of the Oxford?

Sorry to be pedantic, but isn't lol in that context spelt LOLL?

LOL = acronym; a verb phrase; meaning to "laugh out loud"
loll = intransitive verb; to hang loosely or laxly.

Also, how on earth did we get to this topic?

Really, where's your proof, or is this purest madeupium? And in any event, even if some may say this, some people dismiss climate change. And they are palpably stupid and wrong. So, merely having an opinion doesn't make it valid or worthy of discussion.

It was in the beta and we tried them out. Maybe have a look at the beta area and the patch notes.

Core/not core. I don't see any reason to split hairs here. Tell that to them, if you want.

Anyway, on point, to me having the route plotter bumped up to 20K LY instead of 1K LY means one thing and one thing only – not having to check the galactic map quite as often unless I feel like it. In other words: Meh.

I mean, I guess it's kind of cool that they can do that, but as an actual improvement to game-play...

I want to thank you for replying Dale, and openly admit to everyone here that I was hammered last night. The stress that im under at the moment seems to be showing itself more and more angrily when im on the bottle. And, I am a complete tool when im drunk. I requested less morning shifts as I simply cant keep waking up at 3:30am and going until 7pm. Im too old for that jazz. I need more willpower at the moment and gotta eat during the day. So APOLIGIES TO EVERYONE. Ill try and keep in line.

I'll drink to that! Cheers :p

Of course it can be. Especially the mission system update.

While I do agree that exploration is extremely lacking, and overall having a 1:1 recreation of the milky way seems like a waste in a game where exploration bogs down to just staring at empty things (which in turn got nerfed meanwhile), I must say that the overall tone of this OP does not help the exploration cause at all.

Frustration does that. Feed it other input factors, and people can get a bit emotional. Op has since publicly apologised; how about we stick to the thrust of their actual argument, rather than just the delivery? It's healthy and normal to have a frank and honest discussion about mechanics in Elite: Dangerous, on the official Elite: Dangerous forums. The developer, more than ever, is being pulled in many directions, and is making changes for groups who are not discussing these changes very openly.

There are some very solid mechanics changes that have a lot of support; these are being mostly ignored, and changes such as the jump in offset for barycenter heat avoidance are being prioritised instead.

edited.

Here's an artists impression of geysers on Endecaleus. If you look at the way the landscape is portrayed from orbit, you instantly think "Ah... That's not just ice - rock too." Only by the reflections. It's an excellently thought out image.

Here's an example of the "Transparency" I was talking about.

Of surface Geysers as they "should" be:

And although this is from Earth, it would be wonderful to see this in game to give an indication of fresh tectonics. Where the water ice has not had a chance to sublimate.
