Disgusting. If that's the official stance then I'm done with this place. The point of this "PvP" wasn't to show who is more skilled. The point was to make the person on the other end as angry as possible. And the point of posting the video in this forum is to do the same. If you can't see the problem with that, then I feel sorry for you.
I can't support a company that condones this kind of disgusting behavior. I'll move on to other games. I'm under no illusion that FDEV cares about one person that will no longer support them, but I feel that every individual has a personal responsibility to stand up for what is right.
The official forums, much like Elite Dangerous itself, is slanted in favor of the griefers over the victims. Has been for years. If a victim posts a video of them being ganked the thread is often locked and the poster often reprimanded for "naming and shaming". I know because it's happened to me. However, when a ganker posts a video of them griefing someone, for example this thread, it's usually left open with little to no moderator action taken at all.
For some reason griefing the unarmed and unexpected is viewed as okay in both the game and the forums, yet posting about getting ganked is not permitted. I don't know why it's lopsided the way it is, but the slant is apparent nontheless. And yeah, certain posts in this thread only serve to reinforce that stance, but I won't name anyone in particular for fear of receiving another ban over the issue.
Your post is on point though, and I agree with your sentiment.
