Ps4 update 15.8gb

Is ED the only game you people play on PS4? My last Overwatch update was over 15GB, and I've got a 50 (FIVE ZERO) gigabyte update to Elder Scrolls Online waiting in the pipeline. Big updates are nothing new, especially content-driven updates..

All very good when you have have decent unrestricted internet, some of us aren’t so fortunate. For me its a pain as can only download 40gb a month, so far i have elite 15gb, ff15 25gb, gta 5 20gb, and watchdogs 2 12gb patches waiting, thats 2 months of my internet just for updates but unable to play them till the patches complete.
I would happily pay for an alternative to these huge patches rather than having to wait months to download these a bit at a time.
BT have hinted my area may get fibre in 2021, the larger these patches get the more likely my gaming hobby is going to end

I'm as surprised as you are. Usually my PS4 updates aren't available until later in the day (always Tuesday). On the other hand, PSN is not known for its fast download speeds...

Sometimes you get lucky with psn downloads. The 17gb update when I installed horizon zero dawn a few months ago only took 40 minutes. Just started downloading 2.4 now and if the speed stays consistent, it should be done in maybe 90 minutes. Might be able to get an hours play in before its time to sleep.

Might put the ol' girl into rest mode for 30 minutes and see if that speeds it up.

I'm not unsympathetic to your predicament, but I highly doubt any PS4 developers will be releasing patches via disk. Back when my own Internet was much more sketchy, I would take my PS4 my friend's house and download updates using his very fast Internet. I have a PS4 Slim, which fits nicely in a laptop bag for easy travel.

Yes mine was vary quick to download too. I downloaded it as soon as it was announced that the update was live, so I guess most people probably hadn’t had the chance to download it at the time.

4:30 pm here. All being well we’ll be able to play it in 2.5 hours.

I always leave my PS4 in rest mode. I seldom ever turn it completely off. As a father and husband, there's nothing like time allocated for your gaming habits. With that said, I'd hate to spend half of it, downloading an update. I'm at work now but I'm always pleasantly surprised to see a completed game update when I get home and have time to turn on the PS4.

I hear you Kakeyoro!
Also.. It is unfortunately the case that until the revolution, when all you can eat internet will be made a mandatory obligation for ISPs, it’s gonna be tough on some people. The online gaming industry simply assumes that’s what everyone have. With 5 kids and 3 PS4s in my house it is in fact the economic choice!

Do you get a phone signal either 3g or 4g as could buy a tablet or phone with unlimited data and use as a tether?

He's a gamer, too. You're too young to remember this, but years ago if people wanted to play a game together, we would have to crowd around on the couch and hope our friend had a huge TV (he does) so we could see our tiny 1/4 section of it.

At or about 0515 this morning I turned on my ps4 and clicked on the ED icon. I found out that it was going to be a 22 hours ordeal, my first thought was one of discontent. The second one was actually given to me by my wife, who stated that at least your gonna get it. Only 5 years ago, it would have been impossible, there wasn't any internet except at the hotels which all cater to tourist.

Most of Mexico high technology isn't coming from Mexico. As America upgrades their stuff, the old stuff is written off as a donation and sent here. With only one recent company testing the waters, cell phone here are still by the minute. Yes, it sucks, but yesterday, we didn't have any cell phones and today we do. Mexico will upgrade if and when America upgrades. We are like the youger siblings in a poor household that practices handing down clothes from the older generally larger child to a younger generally small child. Though Mexico as a nation is older, it is way smaller.

So, today for the first since launch, I can't play. Gonna be Jonesing all day like an addict needing a fix. But then come tomorrow!

It's ironic that though I'm forced to use a dial up connection to play ED. Not 30 meters from my house is the cable companies fiber optic line that runs to a new 600 home community one kilometer North of my home, and it's still under constuction and won't be occupied at all for another year.

Took some doing, but I finally got with the assitance of an interpreter to talk to thee highest employee at the local cable company. When asked why, when I'm so close to the line, I couldn't get connected. He stated, not a problem, and that I could have it done as soon as a week or less. And to write out a check in the amount of 10,000 U.S. dollars. Apparently the equipment and labor for one home or a hundred is the same.

There's a street that separats my barrio (neighborhood) from the one across the street. My barrio is about 80 acres in size and contains only 5 fairly large and slightly oversize homes. The one across the street is one kilo square and contains hundreds of normal size homes. Though the cable is on my side the street, it spans the street and gives the entire area extremly high connection speeds. My barrio will never get hooked up, there's not enough homes to warrent the cost thus there will never be any profit. Cable companies are high tech now, one can't just simply climb the pole and connect a wire like the ole' days. So, if you in the market for a new home somewhere, make sure to check out the internet abilities prior to buying.

Well HZD was a quick download for whatever reason. Wasn't so lucky when I bought Doom earlier in the year. 20 or so gig update took about 10 hours. Witcher 3 took around the same amount of time as well when I reinstalled to play all the DLC for that.

My update said 16 hours while playing Destiny 2. I shut the game off, paused resume download and the time went to 100 minutes. :p

Myne stated 22 hours, when I first say it the morning at 0515, this now 1100. I made sure to put it in standby and turned off my screen. Reading what you posted, I thought, far out, myne should be ready to go, it's been 6 hours, and just checked, still got 16 hours to go. I've come to the conclusion the reason for third world contries existence is, everything is slower. I mean, if your not at least a half hour late for anything, possibly even your own funneral. Your at odds with everyone else. In America one will grab a dollar from your hand in anticipation that your gonna drop it. Here in Mexico, where the majority live in poverty, you'd have to actually drop the dollar, and let the wind take it directly to someone who just happened to be lying down as if taking a siesta with their hand in an open position. And even then, they probably drop it thinking it was one of the large roaches here. Less than 10% of all Mexico has access to the internet and the majority of people living there, aren't even hooked up.

Mine states, "Downloaded, you may now laugh at all your friends who are still waiting." Seriously, that's what it says!

Just started the download a couple of minutes ago, 25 minutes to go. Sadly my wife want to see her favorite soap, so I'll have to wait til later.
