[Sarcasm] Well done FDEV

Well, my paper thin, unarmed exploration Asp survived fine against a Thargoid ship just now. I accidentally rammed it, and it attacked... I call that a breakdown in communication. It left me alone while I just watched it before that.

Don't misinterpret their deploying drones and turning red as an attack immediately, it's more of a warning - deploying hardpoints.

So...its content only for those who have top end, tricked out, engineered large ships? What about the rest of us? is there anything BELOW threat 5 in which we can actually participate?

Cheese with your Whine? ;-)

Human technology is useless against the Thargoids. Those with engineered ships aren't going to fair much better than the rest. They certainly won't be destroyed anything.

From the looks of it, even engineering doesn't really seem to help much. No one can put any significant damage on them, and their attacks bypass shields and our hulls don't resist them. Doesn't matter what ship you are in or how much it is engineered. Thargoids don't care.

If you're looking for Thargoid USS, there are TONS of them in Pleiades Sector IR-W d1-55. It's the system with a thargoid base and the Oracle station orbiting it.

Well, there is the RNG factor but it seems the odds are at least high around MAIA. What kind of irks me is that, once again (and again, and again.....), there is essentially no content here. Sure, you can jump into a USS 5 or 7, you can either watch (no content, just like watching a trailer in a way), or you can attack, but it's pointless. This isn't much better than when interdictions first came out, or the tharg's visiting the barnacle site. It's all show and no go........ Seeing as I'm in Merope, I may get interdicted on the way back home *yawn*, but this isn't worth sticking around for.....

Now I can be just as bored and frustrated while looking for Thargoids as I am while looking for engineering mats.

Thank you RNGesus!

I can not believe they just Cut'N Paste USS's for Thargoids, was hoping for so much more than this, rather disappointed in the implementation.

Still no "Dangerous" in Elite, since unless you grind USS's your not finding the danger...................

Not even dangerous to drop in, stay a km away and they will ignore you and leave. If they attack, jump out. Disappointed....

Now hold on people, sure, this stage the Thargoids seem to be generally in signal sources scanning wrecked ships and collecting stuff, but there is a huge variation here.

Just this evening I have experienced:
- Scenario where the Thargoid attacked me on sight
- Scenario where the Thargoid attacked me after I honked at it
- Scenario where the Thargoid attacked after I accidentally rammed it
- Scenario where the Thargoid deployed drones as a warning and then went about its business as long as I kept my distance
- Scenario where the Thargoid accepted my offering of a Thargoid Sensor.
- Scenario where the Thargoid scanned the ships, ignored me and jumped away
- Scenario where the Thargoid attacked me after I got too close
- Scenario where I was hyperdicted by THREE Thargoid ships, one of which jumped away, the other two of which maintained a constant distance in front of me and pursued me when I turned to leave.
- Scenario where I went in with my friend in a Wing - him, Cutter; me, Python (both apex engineered) and we fought it together. We were chased out with our trail between our legs.
- Scenario where there was no Thargoid present at all
- Scenario where the only thing there was a Thargoid Sensor.

This is fantastic.

What? You can make it there in less than 15 minutes with 7 mil and a Cobra MKIII

Yep, some people just crave disappointment.

It sounds like you had a good time, which is the way it should be. But from the big picture perspective, it ignored you or it attacked you, and you had to run. And tomorrow it will be the same. It's a flash in the pan, where is the content? I'm not interested in a binary option, being ignored or having to run isn't gameplay.

Chosing to risk saving another pilot is knowing it increases the chance of thargoid attacks is.
