Can you still post salt mining videos in the main thread? No point putting it here since majority of the salt donors are mobians/pve/solo crowd.

You'll just have to lure them in, or just post and be happy with the "Moved" condition...

Oh no keep them here. Now you have your very own little forum.
Congratulations gentlemen...another victory!

...besides, there is still plenty of space in DD to talk about how much you guys like to bring emergent content to the community - just do it in other people's threads :)

Not everyone agrees with the fuel rats' (and all those who seek to emulate them) goal of shielding careless explorers from the consequences of their lack of planning. The OP is fighting the good fight by keeping a rat busy and lowering their credit balance instead of being able to help people who really need to lose their exploration data because they managed to mess up such a basic task as fuel management.

I'd like to hear your exploration achievements...

Let's do a tally of the rescues I've been on (small number compared to some, but still):

3 noobs who didn't know about the forums, KGB FOAM, or what a fuel scoop is/does
3 full kit combat ships who got unlucky with the routing.
1 guy on a robigo run and was just barely short
1 guy where I genuinely don't know.

5 rescues and 3 assists, and this is what I got. Not a single explorer. I'd say that explorers are the ones we have to rescue the least. Its you "brave" combat pilots and noobs who are so green they still ribbet that we have to help the most.

Our only goal is to provide fuel to those who need it. We don't care who, where, or why. If a certain boy wizard were to ask us, someone will go take care of him (perhaps not me, but someone).

Besides, this was a fuel corgi, not a rat. Many have tried to be us, but only the fuel rats are the fuel rats. And its not like any of us are taking a big hit due to the loss of a fuel rat ship. They are designed cheap because rescues typically occur in open (and are the only reason you will find me in that mode). I have 2 fuel rat ships, one is an asp x with 40 ly jumps with a rebuy of about 800k, and the other is a cobra III that boosts to nearly 550 m/s and runs ice cold with a rebuy of about 250k. I can get multiple rebuys for both by spending one hour in an RES with my FDL. Do tell, what exactly am I losing?

Seen a PvPer, seen them all.

What is it with PvErs who think their actions should not have consequences?

I know that this wasn't about a fuel rat being terminated, but I still think this documentary about the harm caused by their organization to the galaxy has relevance:

Yeah, no. Every ship in the galaxy could scoop from the same, single star from now until the end of humanity and it wouldn't affect the star's lifespan to any measurable degree.

Stars are big. Even small ones are big. They're that big.

I'd like to hear your exploration achievements...

Reached 98% Elite explorer without neutron farming before resetting my save. Went to EOCK BLUAE (sadly it was already claimed by someone else) before fuel limpets, synthesis, neutron boosts, before engineered FSDs. Not that impressive, but I used to be a full time explorer. Never needed the fuel rats (they didn't even exist back then), so try again.

Seen a PvPer, seen them all.

I'm a predominantly PVE pirate flying a unengineered Cobra mk 4 who only robs the rare players risking themselves in Type 7s in my barren corner of the bubble. I honestly doubt you've seen many PVPers like me.

My big issue is you guys don't even ask to be paid, so people can just be as careless as they want and get away with running out of fuel at no cost for themselves. I like to see people suffer and struggle and fail in video games as that's what creates the most interesting stories, selfless acts like what you do make the game boring.

Most of the time, we have an ADS on board. One or two systems is more than enough to cover the cost of limpets. There are times where we haven't been able to rescue people, even we can't guarantee anything. Being a fuel rat isn't about the money, and this is a side-gig for most of us. And have you heard about some of our epic rescues? Those are interesting stories, and plenty of people would argue that we help make the game interesting.

Hmmm, seems decent.

That's more like a pirate instead of a PvPer but if we want to be strict it is part of PvP. Same goes for exploration, there many kinds of planets, stars, gas giants, etc. Let's not get into nebulas or rare statistical systems. BTW I know of a pirate though I can't remember his name, his avatar in the forums and youtube is that of a green eye of reptilian look.

It adds a layer of gameplay. Realisticly you'd expect a refuling company to exist.
