I disagree. It's not legit PvP, it's not in the spirit of the game. Come on,you have to admit that this was done for the sole reason of making someone angry. If you are doing things with no other objective in mind than to make someone angry, and go to exceptional and unnecessary lengths to ensure that circumstances are such that they will be as angry as possible, that is harassment. You are not "playing the game", you are targeting the person themself.
This is exactly my point. FDEV need to crack down on this griefing thing a bit. Kill another player? Fine. Go out of your way with the explicit intent to make someone angry? Not fine.
I love how predictable some people are about doing it.

I can do better than that. I can stop supporting FDEV. I can't respect any company who would not only allow this sort of thing, but also applaud it.
THIS. IS. MY. POINT. Why is this allowed to remain on the forums. You KNOW this is going to cause arguments. It serves no purpose whatsoever other than to cause arguments. It should be removed from the forums and a warning issued.
There's a way to ensure that threads like this can't cause arguments and give the OP what he wants.
The context is: effort equals value. Make belief or not. This CMDR spent effort coming to rescue a CMDR. Thinking that CMDR would otherwise lose their exploration effort.
That value was taken from him just for giggles. That's where morality comes in.

I think we touched on this in a Facebook thread at some point, Algomatic, but I see the point did not get across.
Just because you are interacting through an online medium, and even a game, does not invalidate all ethical considerations. You are still interacting with humans. This has been a subject of study since the late 90s (For example Philip Brey's "The Ethics of Representation and Action in Virtual Reality", or T.M Powers "Real Wrongs in Virtual Communities", or James Croft's "It's just a game". You'll find precious few good scientific studies claiming that there's no real consequence to immoral acts in virtual realities.
Because it's no different from showing off your Asp screenshots, or showing off that you reached a elite rank. Except that this is an actual record breaking achievement, and it involves PVP, and I'd rather see videos like this that are actually fun and well edited, than some boring crap that PVEers post.

This is the dynamics of open play. The fuel rats knows the risks of it. This is not the fuels rats first rodeo either. They even went out of their way to modify their website.
This is a game first and foremost.
Nothing is stopping the fuel rats from hiring protection.

Everyone here has the same power as everyone else. PVE and PVP will forever be mixed in open play. It will never change. These things that happen are fruitful for this community.

But when is anyone going to do anything? Like I said elsewhere. Ive played both sides of the Fence. I play the good guy and bad guy in this game. The group I am in allows this. And sometimes my own members my attack me depending on how they feel about certain events.
Because we separate the game from real life.
