[Conjecture] Thargoids only see humans as ship biological components.

Conjecture:

Given that Thargoids are living machines they see humans in escape pods as merely biological ship components, in the same way that we see UAs and UPs as merely dumb entities.

Evidence:

Thargoids hoover up escape pods in the same way that they hoover up and protect UAs and UPs in [Threat 5] locations.

Lol no idea, but the "Evidence" isnt really evidence!

Thats like saying "Vacuum cleaners only hoover up popcorn" EVIDENCE:- "I saw a vacuum cleaner hoover up popcorn"

But hey, you might right, no idea.

More specifically "I saw a vacuum cleaned hoover up only popcorn and not a single one of any other object it passed over"

This hadn't crossed my mind. It would explain why Thargoids are so eager to scoop up escape pods or slaves while ignoring exactly all other cargo types of human origin. What do Thargoid Sensors, Probes, Meta-Alloys and humans have in common? They're all organic...

One gigantic "but", though: Humans still sat safely in their ships remain ignored. If Thargoids are willing to crack open a ship to get at the nuts Thargoid Sensors inside, why don't they go to that length collect all signs of life they come across?

I have a question for those with more experience with handling Thargoids: I know that entering a high-threat NHSS with Thargoid objects on board results in hostility unless you jettison the cargo. I presume this is not the case if one is carrying human slaves or escape pods? If you could get attacked for carrying any type of human or Thargoid cargo, then this theory hold water. If not, then it seems they're collecting helpless humans for other reasons... They don't seem willing to attack us just to collect us.

Have we been conclusively informed that Thargoids are in fact the ships themselves? I rather liked the idea that they were simply utilizing a biomechanical vessel and were biological insectoid lifeforms. This way is definitely more alien, but it is a hell of a stretch and just mind boggling.

If you look at their behaviour they act like a biological entity. Of course, if the Thargoids themselves are insectoid but plug their nervous systems into their ships the ships become their surrogate bodies.

Well, regardless, I'll continue using science missiles on them until we receive science multicannons. With enough science, surely I can find some information!

*actually awaits meaningful way to interact without pew pew*

Could it be triggering a nurturing/brooding instinct?

Of course, it could merely be borgification so we later see "conditioned" humans as the biological computer core, plugged into the hive mind allowing the Thargoids to colonise non-ammonia worlds. This is, of course, another conjecture with no evidence at all.

Well, you can listen to what they "say" during the interactions. The vocalisations are varied and depend upon what they are doing and what humans are doing around them.

been wondering about the humans they grab erm how big are the egg things at alien bases? could our pilots be in them? ita a worrying thought

When they ships come down to the barnacle forest, they deposit collected biomatter to fuel the construction. The contents of the escape pods is among that.

I highly doubt Thargoids are the ship itself, but rather the Thargoid hearts are.

There are four hearts on the interceptor and when destroyed, it leaves behind a heart intact.

This suggests that five thargoid hearts are the biological core, or you can say "pilots".

Whether they have their own autonomy or is controlled by a hive mind is still a question to be answered.

Plus, all the materials we have gathered from destroying or damaging them suggest that Thargoids are a mix of mechanical and biological components, we haven't provided such a thing with a title as we have distinguished between sentient things and robotic things.

Subject: FIX THE SPAWN RATE OF CANNED BIOMATTER!

Seriously. Grinding the rep for Thxalliya is bad enough, but trying to scoop 500 of these "occupied escape pods" (seriously, it's meat in a can. How does this even make sense?) to unlock her is insanity at the moment. And that's without going near trying to get Imperial Slaves for her G5 Neural Pathway Enhancements.

Thanks for the laugh. +1 (virtual) rep

So regarding Thargoid collection of "biological matter"... If the objects we know Thargoids collect are scattered on the ground at Unknown Structure or Barnacle sites, when Thargoids come down to visit them, do they collect these items?

Based on lore the thargoids are not living ships , but a insect like alien race that just happens to use organic ships
